Testimonial: "Thanks so much! We finally evaluated the plug and found the cord/plug WAS faulty as you suggested. Simply replaced the cord and power restored. Have some other issues in getting it to run smoothly but will ask separately. Thank you very much again for suggesting a first look at the plug!!"

SOURCE: How do I make my dept. 56 trees stop blinking? Just stay on steady?

These are usually controlled by a flashing bulb. If you only have one bulb then change it out for a bulb that is normal. If there are multiple bulbs then look for the one that has a special marking or colored tip to it.

The skaters won't move on my Dept. 56 Village Animated Skating Pond. The motor is running but I'm wondering if the problem is the magnets on the bottom of the skaters. Any ideas?

Try taking off the yellow disks on the bottom of the players. Also, take the skating rink off and examine if the belt is turning the main gear around. It could be slipping.

If you do that, would you kindly examine the magnet which runs the player around the rink. I am at a loss as to what keeps the tension of that magnet against the pattern which is on top of the main gear. A picture would be great. If so, please send to billwodrich@gmain.com Thanks

When I fill my ice rink, should I use hot or cold water?

Cold water is best for building up depth. Hot water makes for a stronger, smoother surface after a base depth is established. At least one hot water flood is recommended before skating for the first time.

I have a Backyard Ice Rink. my question is will the blades on my ice skates cut the rubber lining on my rink?

No because they feature a Liner protection system that uses flexible ribbed PVC caps that snap over the frame, protecting the Liner from shovel & skate cuts. If you do get any small cuts in the liner you can use duct tape to cover them.
