Question about HP Computers & Internet
Downloaded installation software from Broadcom.com per instructions. Software detects USB device but fails on validation. Same results on all three USB ports. Running Widows 7 with Intel CORE I5 processor on HP Notebook. Any help is appreciated.
Windows should have the USB drivers ready to install now.
Go to Start > Control Panel > Device Manager, after opening Device manager, at the bottom of the list is Universal Serial Bus Controllers> Delete the ones that your having trouble with. Then Restart you computer, when it restarts you'll see a pop up notification. It will say Windows has found new hardware and is installing driver for this hardware. That should be all there is to it. Sounds easy because it is.

I would download from hp.com. the drivers for your USB sockets. That should sort it out.
