My HTC First is stuck on safe mode and when I try to reboot it the power button or volume down button doesn't work but the volume up button works fine and at the top its say "*** LOCKED***". How do
I've tried to call them and they said I need an account with them so I tried powering it off and turning it back o and that didn't work. I've tried holding down the volume down button and power down button that didn't work and I did the same with the top volume button and it got me into the phone but its still in safe mode and it wont put your apps that you download on there.

To get out of safe mode all you have to do is reboot the device, nothing else. The phone should be bale to work fine but without any third party applications.
If what you see on the display is just a bunch of letters, then you are in the recovery section. I'm not sure, but I think that once you highlight a line just tap the Home icon to activate. Make sure that "Reboot Device" is highlighted to reboot the phone in normal mode.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

The device went into safe mode because the app that you downloaded was not a safe application. The device does this so that the application cannot cause more problems to your device. Even though the app was downloaded from the app store it was not deemed safe by your device. Here are some tips that will help you to get your device out of safe mode: -Ensure that if you have a case on your device that you take it off being that the case may be holding the volume button causing you to boot into safe mode -Try turning the device off then back on to get out of safe mode -Power off your device, then reboot by holding the power button + volume up key, then in the boot menu select reboot device -This is sometimes caused by the users accidentally tapping safe mode when cutting the device on so simply restart your device Most users have success by simply restarting the device in order to be able to get out of safe mode. Do your best to restart or reboot your device before you have to perform a hard reset to get the app off of your device to no longer go into safe mode In order to hard reset -Power off device -Hold down volume up + power -Release at the boot menu -Use the volume keys to highlight factory reset -Press the power button to select factory reset -After this the device will begin to reset itself -After it resets itself use the volume keys to highlight reboot device -press the power button to have your device rebooted in its factory settings

This happened to me on HTC Sensation. I was able to get into my apps after a few attempts to reboot seems when volume is all the way down during a reboot it initiates the safe mode. this can happen, im told for many, reasons. Even if your volume controls are working fine.dust etc. although I followed the directions listed above I cleared the htc sense cache then re*stareted and all loaded just fine. I just had too do a little rearanging to my apps on home page . so I am pleased I saved a service call
