Stove about 4 years old started blowing fuse in house main box. Replaced fuses worked 24 hours now it blew again stove was not in use at the time. When it blew 2nd time the fuses were extremly hot.

This indicates that one of the heating elements or control has developed a problem. Can you provide the make and model for this range?? Replace the fuses if blown. Check to see if any element is hot - including those inside the stove. Note any that are. Shut off the stove and unplug it from the outlet. When cold, perform a careful visual inspection of the heating elements on the cooktop AND both the bake and broil elements inside the oven (especially any that were found to be hot earlier). Run your fingers along the blind side of the elements to detect any openings, blobs, etc. in the metal covering of the element. Replace any damaged elements with new. Start the process over again - especially the new element. If found hot - check the control - is it on? The control may need replacement, too. This may require more skills / tools than you have and need a pro. Good luck!

Roper range oven

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you
.Bake element
Replace if found defective
1.Broil element
Replace if found defective

If the element only works partially or not getting red hot at the "Hi" setting, the problem might be with a burned out receptacle that the element plugs into. If this is the case, replace both the element and the receptacle.

You can usually tell when the element itself burns out. It might have small holes or bubbles on the coil. Replace the element, if found defective.

2. Infinite switch
Another reason, why the element would not start, might be a defective infinite switch (located behind the control panel, with the burner knob on its shaft). Replace the switch if found defective.

My oven does not start

Hello there:
It doesn't work at all dot_lineone.gif 1. No power
Make sure there's power getting to your range, oven or cooktop. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power with a voltmeter. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the appliance, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced. ^ top clear.gif Top element doesn't work dot_lineone.gif 1. My lower oven element started to glow white hot so i turned it off . it continued to glow and travel about 6 inches until i pulled the plug, the element now has a break in it. is my control faulty too or...

The element can just be replaced, Sometimes these will start a small fire inside the oven. It's just the element has burned completely out. Some of these are tricky to take out, but it's fairly easy.

Whirlpool AKZ 446 Electric fan starts but oven does not heat up ?? Is the element easy to replace/fit? Thanks

Yes , the element is easy to replace
Remove the cover at the rear of the oven, there you will see the element, undo the screws securing it, and replace the element.
This should solve your prob.
Good luck..

Both heating elements in the oven not working. I did inspect the h. elements found no burn. thankyou help

Ok, you can confirm element failuer by testing for continuity with a Ohm meter. A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

Another reason, why the elements would not start, might be a defective infinite switch (located behind the control panel, with the burner knob on its shaft). Replace the switch if found defective.

If the elements show continuity, you will need to replace the entire control board(clock, EOC)..

I need to know exactly how to hook the wires up to the elements

Have you checked that you have the proper voltage to the unit? You can do an ohms check and it should read 5 to 10 ohms on the elements. If this reading is good then the elements are good. Putting in new thermostats should have been sufficient. You need to start at he breaker box and start there checking voltages then work your way to the water heater. Somewhere you are not getting power to the unit. Both elements and both thermostats can't be bad at he same time. Too much of a coincidence.

GE Model JKP12G0P2BG Wall Oven Bake Element Not Working Properly

The temperature sensor is bad. The broil element will work even if the temp sensor is bad but the bake element will not. If you measure the resistance across the contacts on the sensor, it should be around 20 ohms, if it is much higher (1000+), then it is bad and should be replaced. It is just as easy to replace as the elements and looks like a small pencil sized rod in the inside top of the oven. Let me know how this works out for you.
