Seems that the unit has to be reset so that the processor detects the remote frequecny. It seems sure that the remote is working fine but the unit goes off to a hung postion when in power. This can be due to weakness in the processor or the detection side of the sensor.
If there is a possibility that water has seeped or if moisture is present within , there can be a silmilar problem. So remove power and try to keep the uni warmed up a litttle to make sure there is no moisture. If there is no improvement then the board/processor section has problems and must be taken out to be simulated and checked as the fault is erractic.
