water is coming from evaporator drain pan most likely. lots of humidity right now and 1st thing your ac is going to do is remove this from air. most likely cause would be condensation line clogged or if you have condensate pump, then it also could be cause. to remove cover usually you have to remove air filters look for any screws and possibly front louvers pull down. this usually does not give you access to drain pan. unit usually needs to be removed from wall plate and this might involve refrigerant lines being removed, and for that my friend you defiantly want a qualified professional.
How long you have been using your air conditioner? Older air conditioner needs to be cleaned at least quarterly and if necessary be charged with freon to enable a normal cooling system.
please reset you air conditioner by it,s remote to heat mode and check thermostat setting maybe it has been turn off after remove air conditioner,s electric supply plug from electric source . i hope after reset it will be able to work again.
