To print onto a printable disc, place it on the disc tray supplied with the machine, then insert it into the machine.
This procedure also applies to printing from a computer.
NOTICE: Do not attach the disc tray until the message asking you to load the printable disc is displayed. Doing so can damage the machine.
Detach the disc tray from the cassette (upper).
Holding both sides of the paper output tray (A), gently open it.
When the message asking you to load the printable disc is displayed, open the inner cover (B) and push it down all the way to the bottom.
Place the printable disc with the printable surface facing up.
Attach the disc tray to the machine.
(1) Place the disc tray on the inner cover.
(2) Insert the disc tray straight until the arrow () on the inner cover is almost aligned with the arrow () on the disc tray.
First try a "CD cleaner disk" in order to wipe away dust, peanut butter, etc. Another issue is a defective disk.Just inside the CD front mechanism is a pair of sensors which detect whether a disk is present or not.If one is out of alignment then the disk tray may either not open, always open,or never eject.
Again, try to remove dust;either with a hair blower or vacuum cleaner. If you truly are at your wits end, just gently beat the bottom of your fist onto the player's front left area top section above the tray door..............
To get the tray out for inspection try straightening a paperclip. On the face of
most disk players there is a small hole. Push the paper clip into
the hole, and the disk tray should release. Pull the tray out to
it's full extension. Power being on or off is immaterial. Hope this
help.
Make sure there is no debris inside of the drive. With the opening of the drive towards the floor, shake the system to make sure that if there is any debris in there that it will come out. Also make sure that there is no broken cd's in the drive cause that will cause the door to open and close.
If that doesn't work, the door might need to be re-aligned. Clean the door with glass cleaner, the amonia in there would get any dirt or stickiness off of the door.
Turn of the printer, and do not close any of the tray or doors before all of the jams are cleared.
1). remove the paper from paper tray, removed the tray and remove the jams.
2).open the front cover and removed the toner cartidge assembly, remove any jams in this area, and behid the toner cartridge asembly.
3).left the flap at the front of the printer adn remove any jams heneath the lap.
4).Open the rear exit and remove any james.
close all covers and reinsert the paper tray and turn on the printer.
The solution is to unplug the machine and wait 10 secs. and plug it in again. I have to do this often. another part of the problem may be that some of the blank disks are bad. I got the DVD+R at Staples and about 4 out of 10 were able to be formatted. I am about to try the DVD-RWs.
I had this problem and it turned out to be the gears on the door drive. There are two gears, one that engages the rack on the tray and one that has a slot that drives the clamping action to hold the DVD. These two gears were misaligned by one tooth. This prevented the gear with the slot from turning freely after the door was closed.
To fix it I had to take out the tray assembly, disasemble it, and reassemble it with the gears properly aligned. You need to remove the top and back of the case. Then take out two screws at the rear of the tray assembly and three screws on the circuit board attached to the tray assembly. Unplug the connections to that board. Slide out the tray assembly. Now you can pop the top off of the tray assembly by pulling out two tabs and sliding the top toward the rear. Now you can get to the gears to adjust them. The slotted gear should be able to turn freely for about 1/4 turn when the tray is closed. Make sure the pin on the clamping part is in the slot when you reassemble it.
