Kenmore washer Model 110.5072010, lid light keeps blinking and will not start.

Sorry! Your Worng ! There is 4 wires on the lid switch for
Modle # 110.5072010 The wires are in the right corner as you remove the control cover (puddy knife works to remove this) there they are all 4 wires Blue , Yellow, Green and White. .. makes 4 wires 1,2,3,4 like that.
Now how do you BY-BASS that one?
I would like to know this answer because the lid switches are a bunch of junk and cause me lots of down time and repair/trouble shooting time I don't have for a washing machine that is only 1-2 years old.

How do I get the top up on a kenmore washer. I need to replace the lid micro switch.

Their are 2 different ways to remove the top based on when that washer was made the manufacture used differnt methods this is how to do it on each style

remove diagonal panel between washer and control panel

in the back of washer top will either be 2 brass colored clips
or in the very back egde of top will be 2 5/16th inch hexhead screws

for clips place a small screwdriver in front of that clip and pop clips off and slide top forward

for the screws remove screws from behind top in the left/right corner..pull top forward a bit and lift up a little the plug for the lid switch will be in front right side..squeeze the release for that plug, unplug swicth plug then remove top

in both cases lid switch asm. will be on right side of top on the underpart of it

Fills with water and then nothing kenmore washer model 23822100 type 111

Top load machines will fill with water while the lid is open. Your problem starts when you close your lid. NOTHING happens. I believe this to be your LID SWITCH . Replace or have replaced and you should be OK. GOOD LUCK.

I have a old Kenmoure washer that doesnt have a belt how can i make sure that the swicth is the problem???

If you mean the lid switch, you can unplug the wires to the lid switch and jumper them together. If you mean the timer, can you advance it manually?

My kenmore 400 washer fills but nothing else

Lid switch is still most likely the problem. Are you able to unplug washer from wall and check the wire connected to the switch.

Replacing Lid Switch on Kenmore Washing Machine

Take your back off and reach in toward the front top panel there may be two screws holding the top down to the cabinet or the other way might be the top pop up but see through back first.

Kenmore washer

depends some modles have 2 clips under the front left and right you stick your putty knife in there and pull the console up, also there could be end caps get a screw driver and pop them off then there will be 2 screws remove them. Then some models have 2 screws directly behing the consol remove them pull consol forward and up. Once you have got the consol situated there are 2 copper brakets push down and out with your screw driver this will release the cabinet soyou can replace the lid switch

Kenmore lid switch

The following link explains how to replace a lid switch on a Kenmore top loader:

Now, unless someone has modified the original lid switch, there is NO soldering required. The defective switch just has a couple of mounting screws holding it in place, along with a ground wire attached to the casing. The entire assembly unplugs from the timer and comes out.

As far as a replacement is concerned, you can order them on line at Just type in your complete model number (located around the wash tub opening) and the lid switch is usually listed under the "Top and Cabinet" heading. If your lid switch is activated by a lid strike, which is mounted on the washer lid, make sure it is also intact and not broken. The strike is also listed under the same heading. If you do not wish to wait on shipment, take the part numbers listed on the Sears website and go to your nearest appliance parts retailer. These are standard parts that can commonly be found there.

I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you require additional assistance.
