Probably got sprayed by DEET bugspray which dissolved waterproof layer, probably best to get a new tent and apply bug spray far away from tent and keep it in a cool dry place when you pack it away.

It sounds like something got sprayed on the tent the last time it was used before it was put up. If it's never been used if it is a Coleman take it back and they will usually repair or replace it, As far as if it's not a major brand and you want to try to save it tou could try using simple green or something like that to get the sticky off. I'd have several days of dry warm weather though so it can dry good then I would get tent sealer most likely depending on how big the tent is and reseal it. Does not sound like any mold issue I have ever seen from putting a tent up wet .

I'm in need of purchasing a replacement rain fly for my tent, where can I do this?

any out door / sports retailer should be able to help you with this
To make the tent water proof --erect it on a sunny day and spray silicone fluid all over it ( wet it) and then let it dry
that seals off the fabric weave and makes the water run off rather than through
it also helps prevent rot and mildew when the tent is packed up damp. It is not cheap but effective and when combined with a fly cover also s wet with the fluid will make wet days in a tent more bearable

How do i get a replacement rain top for a northwest territory silver creek 18x10 3 room tent ?

try an outdoor shop
a trick here is to water proof the cover before using it
outdoor shops sell a silicon product that you can spray on the cover after you assemble it
let it dry completely and then when it rains the water will not penetrate the material and will run off
you will find that if you do the entire tent with silicon then when you touch the sides of the tent when it is raining ,the water will not come in where you touch it
any other advantage is that when the tent is stored for a time the silicon protects the material.

What is a guy line? We are going camping with friends and they mentioned the guy line and I had no clue what they were talking about.

Don't worry, a guy line is just a rope that secures the tent and stops it blowing away. Usually the ropes are then tied to rings outside the tent and secured to tent stakes in the ground.

Can I use a grill under my tent?

Absolutely not, the smoke from a grill will damage the fabric of the tent. All grills must be far enough away from the tent so that no smoke is allowed to enter the tent. The tent is made of very flammable fabrics so there is a great risk of causing a fire while grilling under a tent, just put the grill outside it will be more pleasant to stay inside not smoky tent.

Can I heat up my tent?

Most of the tents can be heated to create a comfortable environment. Depending on the size of your tent and the outdoor temperature, I can recommend you to purchase an outside heater that will permit use of the tent in most any weather.

Tesco 6 Person Vis-a-Vis Tent Instructions

Whoever they employed to write the instructions should be shot or go back to kindergarten....how difficult can it be?

Anyway, this tent is relatively easy to put up IF you know how to do it...which the instructions are painfully inadequate. It (un)helpfully uses colour coding on black and white print out and not explaining which way around the longer/shorter poles should be. Actually, once the poles are in, the instructions are ok....but it is a major point and wastes a shtload of time.
There are 2 LONG (well, slightly longer) poles, with a yellow sticker on the end (which comes off after 1 use of the tent). Start on one side of the tent with 2 poles (one longer, one shorter). Slide the long pole into the inner rib (ie towards the middle of the tent), then put in the shorter pole on the outside rib (i.e.the furthest away from the middle). You do need some grunt to force these into place, but at least they go (they won't if you put the wrong pole in the wrong slot). Then do the other side of the tent, longer first (inside), shorter second (outside). Then just pin everything else together like the instructions show.
The tent is ok, just ok, not great, not terrible, although it is pretty terrible in the wind, but what do you expect for 60 quid.

I have borrowed a 2002 REI Clipper tent that has been in storage.I just set it up and the tent floor and inside of the rain fly are sticky. How do you recommend I clean them? It is sticky throughout, not...

It sounds like something soaked in, either a rain shield product that wasn't allowed to dry before putting the tent away or a leak during storage. Tents can be cleaned with mild cleansers, but it's best to try just plain warm water first, as cleansers can leave residue behind that will impact the rain resistance of the fabric and attract more dirt. If you do have to use a cleanser, rinse the tent well afterward! Make sure the tent dries fully (including the seams) before putting it away again. Here are more detailed instructions:

Square tent with 2 types gazebo poles, varenda, 2 side windows

the 2 longest of the poles go in an x over the center of the tent and the 2 shorter ones go arch to the sides. http://www.wenzelco.com/details.aspx?NavID=412
shows a picture very similar to your tent. If you go to image 2 it shows it with out the fly. now if you got 2 sets of 4 poles, 2 long and 2 short, and one set is all aluminum, then I would go with the aluminum set. It is less likely to collapse in high winds.

My tent is unsafe, I have no idea how to make completely safe. I like to go camping in the northern woods, bears like to sniff and bump my tent.

Are you keeping food inside the tent?
Bears usually will not come near humans unless there is food smell coming from within the tent.
I also camp in the north woods and generally its the coyotes that are daring enough to come into a campsite. Also they use coon dogs for hunting bear which falls in public camp season and they roam about to track bear. My personnal best defense is to keep my chainsaw just inside the door as being a camp host I find myself being alone in site untill my guests arrive. The chain saw noise is a good defense to scare off anything because its very loud .And yes Ive actually had to run it one night in Particular when my site was surrounded by a pack of coyotes and they were right outside. KEEP ALL FOOD AWAY FROM TENT AT ALL TIMES. Raccoons also are very daring and will come on site even when your there if they smell food and are smart enough to open water jugs with their paws the trick to keep them out of your food is to put the coolers under the bench part of the picnic tables so the lids cant be opened.Im a very ex. camper and can give tips all day long

Weather Protection

This tent is properly protected from the rain, i used it and it was just fine, not a drop of rain came in.

Of course there was a bit of a condensation, but i haven't met a tent that didn't suffer from this problem when it rains.
