First, are you sure the pump needs cleaned? If it is not removing the water from the machine it could be a couple of reasons. 1. The timer (electronic board) could be bad and not sending a signal for the pump selenoid to open an allow water into pump for removal. 2. The drain hose from the DW to the house drain could be plugged up. But to answer your question. First remove all elecric power from the machine. 2. remove the kick plate on the bottom. 3 you will see the motor and pump in the center. (each model is different) but you may need to remove the motor and pump as one unit from the DW. or you may be able to access the pump housing with out removing from machine (usually there are small clips that hold the housing(cover) on the pump. Get them off and you will have access to the impeller.

Dishes won't come clean

Check your water inlet for the right pressure and then the water float valve for the right amount of water in the tub for washing. The tub has to have the right amount of water in it to pump it up to the top. It is also possible that the pump has debris in it that is restricting the flow. Clean out the screens and check the bottom of the washer tub for debris at the pump inlet. Use white vinegar to clean out your washer. Start your washer - open the door and pour in a lot of vinegar. Let it run for a few seconds and stop it. Let the vinegar work on the scale and debris. Start and stop it several times during the day - not completing the wash cycle until in the morning - after it has sat with the vinegar 10 -12 hours.

Dish washer not emptying

put your model # into a google search and choose a place that has parts and look up your drain pump. you probably have either a clogged drain hose, not likely, or a bad pump.

My dishwasher doesn't clean my dishes anymore and sometimes it doesnt dry them. it is a quiet partner 1 and it is about 2 years old.

It sounds like the water pump on the dish washer has gone out. A dish washer works (much like a clothes washer) by filling up the washer with a set amount of water, then through circulation, pumps the water up through the various spray nozzels. If the water pump is worn and not making enough pressure, the spray won't get the job done. Depending upon make/model, it may be cheaper to replace the water pump.

Run an empty dishwasher load with a bowl of white vinegar on the bottom shelf. As the dishwasher runs the cycle, the vinegar is slowly disbursed and cleans the dishwasher.

Top rack of dish washer does not have enough water

Trouble shooting here... but the same pumb that circulates water... vents it.... So, if the vent valve is clogged with food debris, then you would not retain enough water to wash all the upper rack dishes...
I recommend inspecting the exhaust tube port of the pump (a selenoid is the operating device for that valve). Be sure that it is able to operate freely (close all the way. Otherwise, it is just the pump intake!! only choices...you have already eliminated the rest (GOOD JOB)

Dishs have soap flim

If your dishwasher has been in use for a period of time, you may need to clean the interior of the washer.
The next time you are at the grocery store, pick up (2) containers of "Tang" orange drink. With no dishes in the dish washer, fill the soap container with Tang, close the lid and poor the remaining Tang in the bottom of the dishwasher.
Close the door and run through your regular wash cycle. You may have to repeat this with the second container if it is an older model washer.
The citric acid in the Tang will clean the soap scum off the inside as well as the pump chamber inside the washer.
Good luck, it worked for me, cleaned it nice and shinny and smells good too.
Regards,

Goes through cycles but does not clean dishes

Do you know if the washing arms are turning. Normally after the machine fills up the main pump begins and the washer sounds like it is washing dishes. If you carefully open the washer at this point (just a little) it will be eveident that water has been sprayed around inside as it will be dripping everywhere. If not you pump hasn't activated. This does not mean you pump is broken however it could be the pressure level switch sticking and not completing the circuit that starts the pump.

Dishes are not coming out fully clean

first if the pump is running and you can hear it washing it should clean now hot water cleans dishes not the washer the hotter the better at least 130-135 degrees modern dish washers use less water than older models so if you don't get the water as hot as you can stand it at the sink before you turn the washer on you can fill it with cold water second its important that you use jet dry and if your dishes aren't dry at the end of the cycle then on most washers you can turn the disp up for more hope that helps let me know

Wash cycle

Check first that the filter located inside the machine (on bottom) is clean. In case it clean - The problem is with the pump. It could be a blockage between pump and the tub, or just a defective pump (The pump takes suction from the tub and forces water up through the spray arms, which spray the dishes. The water then simply drops back into the tub for recirculation). Good luck !!
