Holding home button
Restore it to a from a BackUp with itunes or just try download anti virus from appstore but i would recommend you to back up your iphone and then factory reset it from backup.

Try to update your Ipod using Apple's software they provide on their website for your specific product. It should reset it with no problems. Hope this helps

SOURCE: Ipod Touch Home Button
This usually happens if the membrane of the sleep/wake button deteriorates and the gold plated contacts between membrane and logic board do no longer establish good contact.
There are specialized online tutorials with iPod Repair instructions that will guide you through the steps of taking it apart and reinforcing the contact or replacing the button altogether otherwise you'll have to send it to any third party iPod repair service and they'll replace the membrane for you.
