Usually this message is because the hard disk in the computer is defective or that there is a Booting problem,
Try to start your computer using the restore CD
If you do not have the CD may be you have a restire partition , you can try activating it in the Boot menu by clicking repetively thf F8 key when you open the computer.
Note that if you use this method it will ERASE ALL your data and reinstall the system as it was when you bought it

SOURCE: installed a new hdd after my dell 1300 kept saying

Have you tried accessing the bios and resetting it to factory default settings? Sometimes this will get the laptop to recognize the hdd. Otherwise, it may be either the connection isn't secure, or the bios has become corrupt and you may need to update (flash) the bios

SOURCE: Dell Inspiron 1300 blank monitoe

Hello,

the problem might be from the screen or from the screen inverter.

Connect your laptop to an external monitor and try again.

If there is a display, then its obvious that the problem is from screen or screen inverter of your laptop.

Good luck.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and when I turn it on it tells me NO BOOTABLE DEVICE DETECTED This happen one other time and I rebooted my computer and it came back on but it did not work this time what can I...

NO BOOTABLE DEVICE When the PC cannot see a boot file/disk on either the hard disk or floppy drive it gives an error message "No bootable device. Insert boot disk and press any key"
There may be a hard disk problem.
Check the BIOS to see if the hard disk is detected, if not open the case and re-seat the hard drive and also where it connects to the motherboard.
If it still gives this error message and the BIOS does not detect this hard drive, then the hard drive is probably faulty.

To get the computer operating again, install a new hard drive in your computer and then install Windows on this hard drive plus the computer's device drivers and your programs.

My dell inspiron 1300 states that there are no bootable devices. What to do?

It is telling you that your hard drive is not being seen by the computer.
When you start the computer, press F2 to get into the setup and look to see what it tells you the hard drive is. It may say "none" or something like that.
It may also correctly identify the hard drive but the computer still won't boot. In either case, you are probably going to have to get a new hard drive.

You must reinstall your audio controller, or since you did reinstall windows XP on your system make sure that all the drivers for your inspiron 1300 is installed to make all your devices function properly on the system go to your manufacturers website and download all your driver from there.

find your service tag it will be asked in the drivers and download part of the website.

USB PROBLEM CAN ANYONE HELP?

One thing you can always do is click on "My Computer" and you will see the device and the files on it.

There is a place in Windows where you can tell the computer to give you the options as you first saw, but I can't remember just where it is. I'll look it up if you need me to.
