HI, it's Jim from Crucial Vacuum!

Be sure to push the clips on both sides and lift. If possible, especially if you've just vacuumed, try emptying your Shop-Vac outside. This can be quite messy and you don't want dust and debris getting all over your floor and in your air.

You can purchase high quality replacement bags and filters for your Shop-Vac direct from Crucial Vacuum with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for Fixya.com readers, use code: FIXYA10

Pull out on the clips on each side while pushing on the red part in the center of the clips. Pull black bottom away from the red top while pulling out on the clips.

Shop vac stopped working

Motors have a thermal safety fuse in the field winding. If it overheats, it will blow and either can be replaced or the whole field winding will have to be replaced. It is wired and is not considered to be a user servicable item.

Mini shop vac

There is a hidden thermo fuse in the tape on one of the field windings. If it overheats that fuse will blow and the motor won't run until replaced.

My Roomba is "screaming"

Sounds to me like your Roomba is in need of a trip to the vac shop for repairs. Probably, mostly what it needs is lubrication. All vacuums work in what is arguably the dirtiest places in the home, other than the bathroom. And for the most part, they are simply neglected. Your friendly local vac shop will take it apart and lubricate it in places you've only dreamed about, (just kidding). It sounds like it just needs some normal maintainence. It shouldn't be too painful on the wallet.

My shop vac won't turn back on after emptying

I'm afraid you'll need to take it apart. the switch is mounted in a plastic holder in the top. While you got it apart and without it plugged in, check to see that both brushes are touching the commutator. there should be sufficient spring tension to hold the brushes against the spinning part [commutator] if even one brush isn't making contact it won't spin.

Emptying the water from the Shop Vac 925-13 Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum

Stand in front of the vaccuum with the lable facing you, the 2 release levers are on the left and right sides, attached to the motor housing, which sits atop the tank/canister. Pull out and up on the levers, twist counter-clockwise, lift straight up and the motor housing will follow, leaving the tank/canister on the floor.
