Hello Mitch;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

Why did you put in a gas valve. That is the least likely component to fail.

1.) Restricted Air flow - If your unit is plugged up with lint it will shut down.

2.) If you have a blown thermal fuse $10.00, it will shut down.

3.) If you have a bad high temperature limit switch $12.00 you will shut down.

4.) If your igniter glows, it still may be wearing down and does not have enough power to open the gas valve.

Send me your model number and lets fix this together.

Fryer will heat up and once it gets up to temperature it stops as it should but won't fire back up after cooling a bit. Pilot light stays on but there is another flame coming from another pipe. Any in

I would first try replacing the thermocouple (you want to put a new one on a new gas valve any way), if that didn't cure it ya gotta replace that old gas valve because the solenoid on it is going out. Ain't gone yet but going and nope you cannot just replace the solenoid anymore like in the old days. Gotta fit another gas valve IF the new thermophile generator don't fix the probo.

Kenmore gas dryer 80series model 110.c72852101

if you hear the valve clicking but no gas the valve is bad.when the burner lights theres a probe that senses that it is lit and sends a microvoltage back to the controller to tell its lit.check to make sure all ground wires are grounded to a clean metal surface.

If what happens is the flame comes on when it first starts, after the flame goes off you see the igniter glows then goes off but no flame, the coils that open the gas valve are working while thier cool but once the dryer gets running, when warm to hot the gas valve coils wont open the gas valve so when the igniter comes on and no flame the coils have failed to open gas valve and need to be replaced, all manufactures use the same coil supplied by one parts supplier, and them not opening the valve when warm is a very common occurence regardless of what brand gas dryer it is.
The part number for the coils is 279834 they could be picked up from your local appliance parts store for under $20 or online at;

A taping sound coming from the front of the motor and it got worst and kind of back fired sound like its popping and has a gas smell.

A valve train going bad. Gas smell due to gas not firing and blowing out ther back. Popping because exhaust valve isn't closing completely for compression stroke. Put a quart of RISLONE in the oil not to overfill oil level. Run it for an hour, cahnge your oil.

Raypak 2100 265A displays GVO. I know it means Gas Valve Open, but I do not know what is wrong. It is a IID Electronic Pilot. I see a slight flame when the igniter lights and then the system goes into GVO...

Here is the directions from raypak on this code.

1. Turn off power and disconnect ignition wire and gas valve wires from cpu board.
2. Turn on the power and watch for spark at module.
3. If no spark is observed, turn off power and replace the board.
4. If spark is observed, turn off power and reconnect gas valve and ignition wire.
5. Turn on power and unit should fire.
if unit does not fire and code reappears, turn off power and disconnect gas valve wires from the board and remove MV,PV and ground wires from the gas valve. Clean and reconnect wires.
7.Plug the gas valve back into the board and torn power on. Unit should fire.
8. If the unit fails to fire, Replace the gas valve.

Its not a good code to get. Hope this helps

I havge an older RLP 100, When turn the knob counter clockwise to the low position and push it down the fire ignites. As soon as I let up on it the flame goes out. I held the knob down for a minute or so...

This could be that you just need to reseat the thermocouple.
Try this before you purchase new parts.

You can go to to purchase parts.

Just remove the end of the thermocouple from where is goes into the gas valve and leave the end that goes into the flame in place.

Clean the end of the thermocouple connect by scraping off just a little metal from the end just about there the nut tightens the thermocouple into the gas valve. After you have exposed some new metal do the same inside the valve where the thermocouple seats into the gas valve.
Use a small pic or similar item to scrape inside the gas valve to expose some new metal there also.

Now reassemble the thermocouple into the gas valve and see if the heater works.

Here is a link with some more instructions.

Gas water heater: burner doesn't fire, replaced gas control valve

Hello,Don't worry about the rust flakes as every burner collects then and is normal. The new control should click. Please check incoming gas pressure supply 3.5"WC natural gas / 9"WC for LP.Check it at the piolt tube with a pressure dial meter,I assume the water temp now is cold.Did you change the thermocouple also as this provides the power to run the control?

Try to ignite pilot on 15/30b. flame ignites but goes out immediately when i realease the green button after 20 seconds. have replaced thermocouple but still no joy - any ideas ?

First, I'm assuming you have a residential Gas-Fired Heater or Water Heater that you are having problems with. My answer is based on this assumption.

Most thermocouples require that you hold the button for at least 45 seconds. Try holding the button for 60 seconds prior to releasing it. If this does not work, you can test your new thermocouple if you have a multimeter...preferably one with an alligator clip for your leads. To test your thermocouple, disconnect the end that screws into your gas valve. Set your multimeter to read Milivolts. Put your red lead on the copper line of the's easier if you have an alligator clip. With your pilot lit, hold down the button for 45 seconds and continue to hold while you put the black lead of your tester on the very end of the thermocouple (the part that attaches to the gas valve). You should read a minimum of 12 milivolts. If you do not read 12 milivolts, your new thermocouple is bad. If you are reading 12 milivolts, screw it back into the gas valve, relight, hold the button for minimum 45 seconds. Release the button. If the pilot goes out immediately, the problem (>99% probability) is with your gas valve.

Duet dryer nat 1206006 el22 The fire starts for about one minute then goes out and will not fire again.

Hello, This problem is going to be your safety valve coils...basically they get old and over time of heating then cooling develop a short when they heat up...It may appear the gas lights to start but then goes out until the safety valve coils cool back down. Here is a picture of the coils 57d5263.jpgThis The coils are mounted to the gas safety valve, This should solve your problem. Hope this helps, Please feel free to comment again if you have any further questions or concerns. Good Luck! Mike
