Question about Dyson DC-35 Digital Slim Cordless Multi-Floor Vacuum - -

1 Answer

I have a fully charged battery, however the power light indicator is off. I've checked for blockages, but can't get the upright to operate.

I've tried a new charger, and cleared blockage. I checked to make sure the filter is inserted correctly.

Why doesn't my battery charge? Why doesn't the charger's light come on?

Hi Suzanne! Follow these steps to check that your charger and battery are working properly.

1. Unplug the charger for at least 30 seconds.
2. Plug the charger back in. The blue light on the charger should flash once.

If the blue light flashes once this is an indication that the charger is still functioning properly. If the blue light does not flash, the charger will need to be replaced. Follow this link to order a replacement charger. LiNX Battery Charger

3. Place the battery in the vacuum and turn it on for 30 seconds. (even if it does not turn on or powers off)
4. Turn the vacuum off.
5. Remove the battery and place it in the charger.

If the light on the charger is solid blue this is an indication that the battery has been reset. Allow 3-4 hours for the battery to fully charge. The blue light will start to blink slowly to indicate the battery is fully charged.

If the light on the charger is flashing blue or there is no light at all this can mean that your battery needs to be replaced. Follow the link to order a replacement battery. LiNX Lithium Ion Battery

Hope this helps!

Should the red light on my 15.6v dustbuster turn green when it's fully charged? It doesn't.

I had the same issue, then i just found the manual, in charging part, it says:"The charging indicator will be lit as long as the
appliance is connected to the plugged-in
charger."
Also it says:"While charging, the charger may get warm, this is
perfectly normal and safe. It can remain on
charge indefinitely without damage or danger. It
is not possible to "overcharge" the battery cells
with the charger provided"

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC15. From what you've described, it sounds as if the relief valve is activating - if you've already washed the filter, it may be activating due to a blockage in the machine. The easiest way to locate and remove any blockages is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=813&product=DC15-SY-STD

Although I note you've already washed the filter, you may want to take a look at the video below to make sure you've cleaned it as recommended. In normal use, this should be done at least once every 3-6 months. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for the filter to dry completely before replacing it.

This should resolve the issue, but if you'd like any further assistance or advice, please call our Helpline free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,

When the Dyson is upright and the removable parts to check for blockages are removed , sucking is strong. when the side one is reattached, the suction diverts to the outlet/slits on the bagless bin

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC14. From what you've described, it sounds as if the suction relief valve is activating because there may be a blockage in the cleaner head, or the internal hose.

The easiest way to check for and remove any blockages is to detach the internal hose by following the steps shown in the video below. Once you've removed any obstructions and replaced the hose, you should find this resolves the issue.

If you need any further assistance, please call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON.

Kind regards,

Suction in hose okay through floor piece not working

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC24. From what you've described, it sounds as if the suction relief valve is activating - this is likely to be due to a blockage in the machine, or because the filters need washing.

The easiest way to locate and remove any blockages is to follow the simple steps shown in our online support guide:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1120&product=DC24-ALLFLOORS

DC24 has two filters, both of which need washing at least once a month, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 24 hours for them to dry completely before replacing them.

I'm confident that following these steps will resolve your issue. However, if you'd like any further assistance, call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards,

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07 Animal. If it seems to be picking up well from the cleaner head, but not through the hose, it's likely you do have a blockage in the cleaner. Although I note that you've checked the hose itself already, you may find an obstruction elsewhere. The easiest way to make sure you haven't missed anything is to follow the steps shown in our online guide:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=114&product=DC07-SY-HEPA_US

By locating and clearing the blockage, you should be able to resolve the issue without further assistance. However, if you've tried this and are still concerned, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you, and recommend the best course of action. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).
