I changed the battery on my keypad opener but now it won't work. What am I overlooking

Did you reprogram the keypad? Doing this is simple for sears/liftmaster/ and chamberlain because they are all the same manufacturer, Programming a keypad is as simple as pushing the smart button on the garage door opener and then punching in your 4 digit passcode and pressing and holding the enter button when finished ! That's it! If for some reason you are experiencing problems with your code there can be a problem with the contacts on the keypad from the original code because after using it for years the contacts on your old code were probably used tens of thousands of times So....Heres what you do ! Chose 4 digits that have never been used on the keypad for example if your code was 2547 you can use any of the other numbers except those since 1 or all of those contacts can be bad so maybe you would use 1358 since those numbers were never used and their contacts on the keypad are in new condition doing this you would be saving money since most people don,t think like I do and I have saved many people the costs of buying a new keypad by doing this simple reprogramming procedure! Good luck with your keypad Sincerely Glenn

My wireless remote keypad stopped working. I changed the battery and it worked to get the garage door down but not up. The key pad is about 7 years old.

It sounds like your keypad is going bad and has a weak signal. It can operate the opener with the door open but with the door between it and the receiver it can't.

Keypad and remote will not open door

Did the remote and keypad work before you changed the battery? Changing the battery in the keypad should not affect the remote.

First of all, did you try recoding unit by hitting LEARN BUTTON on motor. Try that. If n/g, try a new code with a number you did not use. Example, if old code was 5834, try 2222. If it works, one of the numer from you old code is worn out. Try new code or buy new pad.

what keypad are you using with new opener? Frequency has changed. can't use old one. you probably never needed to change things; just needed to follow proper coding procedures.
