Question about Panasonic Technics Stereo Receiver Sa-828

Will this electrical product be safe to use in Ireland

I am due to purchase a Technics Amp/Receiver from the United States. Will this be safe to use in Ireland because of the different voltages or do I need a special "adaptor", or is it a complete no-go? I will not buy the item until I'm a little wiser! Many thanks, Stephen.

If your unit cannot operate in voltage range 110 to 240 then best leave it where it is. Our voltage is 220 and to buy and cart around a transformer ? I don't think so.

Technics receiver SA-GX350 Receiver Manual states to be only used with 8 ohms speakers. I've used 6ohm speakers with this receiver for over 20 years. Please explain is it safe to do so?

its not safe but manageable.if the speaker impedance is too low, the amplifier will tend to overheat and more power is used up in the amplifier than is delivered to the speaker. Too many speakers on a solid state amp can burn up the power output section.

I need to changed from the USA to the Republic of Ireland

You just need to load United Kingdom maps. Go to www.garmin.com find and purchase appropriate maps, then load them on your Garmin. Then you can search for Ireland address',, and will show your position in Ireland, or anywhere in the British Isles.

Alternatively, you could look on ebay.com for someone selling chip with maps already on them.
This more likely than you might think. Visit Garmin first and check out prices, so you know what is a good deal.

The "U" at the end of the model number

The "U" at the end of the model number stands for a product designed for sale and use in the United States. There will be some listings that will not show the "U". If this product is for sale in the United States, it is safe to presume that these are the identical products. Note: that any other suffix (such as "E" for example ) on a "Consumer Camera" sold in the United States is considered "Gray Market," and is not covered by regular JVC warranty in the United States.
