How can I get more than 3 rings? I am in my 70s and disabled. I can not get to my phone to answer in 3 rings. I miss calls due to this.

Try to used another phone to call your missing phone,when its ringing then good..Listen for the ringing tone of your missing phone then look for it where the sound is coming from, If it's not the case and if someone answering when you are calling then make a conversation to him/her.

This happens when the number of rings to answer of the provider voicemail is less than the number of rings to answer that the answer machine is set for. For example: if your provider voicemail rings to answer is set for 3 rings and the answer machine is set for 4 rings then the voicemail answers before the 4th ring, therefore the answer machine will never get a message. I would call the service provider's customer service number and request they increase the rings to answer above the number of rings to answer that the answer machine is set for. If you don't want voicemail to answer any calls(when your line is busy or when the answer machine is turned off) ask your service provider to disable voicemail.

Do you happen to have a custom ringtone to that person ? Or it could be the contact is in a group for which the ring is disabled.

Sounds like your service provider(Verizon) has your phone line setup to forward to voicemail on no answer after 2 rings. Call your service provider's customer service number and request that the number of rings for forward no answer be increased to at least 5, then your answer machine can receive and answer your calls after 4 rings but if your line is busy callers can leave a message with your Verizon voicemail service. If you don't want Verizon voicemail to answer any of your calls, you could have them disable the voicemail service. When you call the service provider have a recent bill ready because they may request your account number before they will make any changes.

Your phone has been set to Auto Answer, to disable this, go to Call Settings and Select Answer mode and uncheck/disable the Auto Answer. Good luck.

Try changing the profile, customize it and disable the any key answer.

Have you checked to se if your phone is on silent or on a vibrate mode? It is possible you switched it without realizing it, which would cause the phone to not ring during a call.

The phone does not have this facillity.However,switching the answer machine "OFF" allows me to lengthen the ringtone to 16 rings as on the Users Guide.
