Check to see if you left it in freewheel, have your charger checked at a battery shop Scooter Doctor App also you may want to check if you have some of those LiFePO4 Batteries, Dr.Woo bought a battery company and put some of them in some of the scooters. Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries. they are supposed to have 2000 charging cycles. Regular lead acid 300-400 cycles.

Why won't batteries charge?

Those chargers are designed to turn solid green when the batteries are fully charged. When batteries are less than new and have some time on them they will not charge as much as a new one. It is conceivable that either the battery condition is not the best there is or that perhaps there may be something wrong with the charger.

I suspect it is the new batteries not being so new.

Need repair manual / wiring diagram

Hello Geoff, unless things have changed which i doubt.Shoprider will not deal direct with the public & direct to to a scooter repair place.A lot of them will not even look at a scooter or wheelchair if you have tried fixing yourself & who should judge them. That is business i suppose, but it does not help those who may not be able to afford things & be stuck in their home.Try this please:SHOPRIDER SERVICE MANUAL 2007 1-800-743-0772 Download as a PDF File to veiw through an Adobe Reader. It is 36 pages of info,1 to 18 is what will interest you &19 to 36 refers to wheelchairs. My joy comes from helping people who need help & what better to focus on than scooters & wheelchairs,i am ill myself.Being here keeps me smiling,i hope this has helped.Have a nice day,Colin.

Our scotter battiers are full charge and it will not go foward or back when we try the red lite flasheses

Give us make/model of the scooter. Count the number of times the light flashes. The red failure indicator light will flash quicker a number of times then it will pause and start the cycle over again. Count up the number of times it flashes before the pause. Email me

My wife inherited a shoprider scooter, but I am not exactly sure how to remove the battery as there was no manual with the scooter. I am not even sure what model it is because the decals are worn...

w beck you have to remove the seat by pulling it out of of the seat post and then remove the shroud or cover by pulling it straight up You will then be able to see the batteries. Your scooter equires two 12 volt batteries probably U1 batteries Hope this helps

Shoprider xl4 deluxe has no power on inclines. lucky if it goes a couple of blocks even on the slightest grade ang the battery gauge goes to 1 light. Even with a fully charged battery has no guts on hills...

`Hi. Sounds very much like a loose battery terminal, or a faulty battery lead connector.
I have also had a few machines that can start jerking because of worn or stuck motor brushes.
Also check the high/low speed switch if you have one, they sometimes cause problems.
How old are your batteries, worn out batteries can still be " fully charged", but are unable to supply the current ( amps ), that the motor needs.
Good luck. Neil.
