Make sure there are no other problems before you replace it!
It does not get barbequed by itself.

Have Fun.

Hello I recompose my question. J would like to know the value of the ceramic condenser close to connector VAC of the circuit of Sr-16. On the circuit C5 opposite the condenser is written. it is round

You might try going to this webpage
https://www.alesis.com/sr16
and from the docs&downloads section download and search the Reference manual. It's also here http://www.burnkit2600.com/manuals/ALESIS_SR-16_OM.pdf (this looks more like a user guide though)
Failing that, choose 'support' from the th top of the page and either contact Alesis support or else ask your question in the 'community' (which you will have to join). Another community which deems to have an interest in the SR-16 is www.circuitbenders.co.uk but I think it unlikely that they could direct you to a circuit diagram, though it is slight possibility that someone might know the value of the capacitor C5

Numark 5000FX power

***Please read this reply in its entirity because there's more information way down at the bottom of the reply. Now the below Pro-Audio International Supplier Thormanne, had the power supply for the Numark FX5000. That's where I bought mine and it was shipped fairly quickly. Also here's the part number from my order so you know you're getting the very specific power supply the FX5000 requires.***

Also so you are aware you're going to need to pick up an eletrical convertor for electronics built with EURO specs but allows to down step the current to what it is in America. Any Fry's Electronics or Pro-Audio store here in the US will have the one I bought which is a -

That's it and my mixer is playing wonderfully so there you have it.
Thank you.

I bought a Behringer Xenyx 2442FX Board on Craigslist, knowing that it wasn't powering up, but figuring that it was just a bad fuse and the guy didn't know what he was doing. I was wrong. ...

The C23 part is a capacitor and the 7085 is more likely a 7805 which is a voltage regulator. The regulator is easy to find. For the capacitor, you will need the service manual to determine the value required. The main issue is that the leg of hte 7805 is lifted. This implies that the part was conducting more current than expected. This is an indication that the problem with the regulator is a RESULT of a problem, not the defect itself. I would not suggest replacing the power supply blindly as the root cause may beon another board. Just changing the power supply board may result in the same problem again.

I would suggest a trip to the repair shop to get a detailed repair estimate. The shop shouldbe able to determine whether or not the only issue is the power board.

Also, from the experience I have with Behringer units, the power boards are unique to each model.

I have 110v XR 1220 power mixer and friend of mine plug into 240v power point, blown the two transistors ou. I do not know what short of transistors are they?

There are dozens of transistors in the unit... we can't guess which you might be refering to. The power supply of the 1200 series mixers have fuse before each part of the supply for the preamp sections.

My power supply in my phonic helix mkII 24 board is blown, it was messed up in a power surge, I have tested the remaining connecting parts and everything else is fine. I contacted phonic and they dont...

Usually it's the electrolytic caps that go in those, they basically "cook" and dry out, a power spike just pushes them over the edge. I've also had this problem with mine & 2 12 volt switchers for my HD and for the satellite had the same fix. I added a fan which helps. Another solution is to go to a second hand store, find 3 power suplies (15v,15v, 5V) and put them in place of the existing one. I am considering that myself as the firewire packed it in again last month and I had to jump over to the other 5v regulator to get it going again, even tho it was only 0.2 v short! Cheers, Sandrine

+48 volt in power supply is not working. All other voltages are present

Download the schematic at:

http://elektrotanya.com/mackie_1604-vlz_mixer.pdf/download.html

Scroll down to the link to download that says "Get Manual"

This is for the 1604 unit which is just a truncated version of yours. When downloaded, find the phantom power supply on page 18.

There are too many components to guess which one so best just to troubleshoot.

I would even suspect the phantom switch since they have POOR design with no inrush current limiting when charging the input capacitor. Since the 48 is not individually fused, if the inpout cap C3 shorts, it probably will take out the switch or the diodes.

Another user had the Zener D9 fail which would cause the problem. Meter the voltage across C3 (probably about 60 volts) and D9 and C4 (47 volts). First check C4 as that cap is run TOO close to the rating of 50 volts... poor design... C5 would also be suspect... or Q1 and Q2.

Then it gets dicey as there are UNDOUBTEDLY many bypass caps in the mixer portion of the board.

I have a Yamaha IM8. I had a condenser mic hooked into channel one with phantom power on. I had to leave the room for a while and when I came back, I noticed some rather severe popping in the audio. I turn...

There is really no way for a condenser mic to damage the board UNLESS you break the ground and get a static discharge into the input. That can happen with any microphone and has NOTHING to do with the phantom being on or off. As phantom power goes on and off slight bias at the input preamps can make amps non-linear causing the raspy sound you heard. The Phantom LED means NOTHING as it shows the state of the phantom switch by connecting a 12 volt source through a resistor to the LED... It shows NOTHING regarding the state of the 48 volt supply. Each input circuit has two 6.8Kohm resistors to the swinger of the phantom switch 2nd pole that either grounds those or connects them to a filtered 48 volt source. As long as you don't have a static buildup there is NO need to turn phantom power on or off while connecting a condenser microphone. At each input when using the XLR jacks are two per side 470pf capacitors for RF bypass. For the XLR's there is a 10Kohm between the signal lines and two series 10mfd/50 volt caps in series of each input to block the DC, when using phantom power, from reaching the preamp stage. These caps have to charge and discharge when changing the state of phantom power so you should AVOID having the main amps being driven while changing the state of any phantom power. Always have the fader(s) down and any monitors down to avoid a thump and also the non-linear raspy transition as the input caps charge/discharge. So fix the microphone... don't know what type you have, but DO check the cable (first) as ALL three conductors MUST be good for a condenser mic to work on phantom power. A ground leakage or noisy connection will cause your symptoms. Use a SHORT known good cable right at the board to test the mic. The 48 volts is applied through the two 6.8K resistors between both the signal lines to the shield of your XLR cable. The microphone picks off the 48 volts with a similar circuit.
Now let's cover a very important thing regarding system safety: ALL, and I do mean ALL interconnected equipment MUST be powered from the same source. Professionals run a power cord back to their mixer right alongside the snake. This is to avoid ground bounce damage due to bad building grounds or ground faults.

My Roland kc 550 will not power on.

Hello,

if it does not power up, then it means its having a power problem. it might have worked fine in the past, but that's electronics for you. Power surge, irregular power supply, excess power supply, etc can affect the unit thereby not making it to power on.

This unit must have a power supply board in it where power enters from the mains. A capacitor, fuse, diode, etc may have been defective on the power board and maybe that's why its not making the unit turn on. There might also be some disconnection or something, inside the unit which is not making it to power on.

To actually find out what's wrong, you need to disassemble the unit with a screw driver and check what's wrong. You will be needing a meter in order to test the components on the power board, once you detect any bad component, you can make necessary replacement at any electronics accessories store withing our vicinity. This is the only way by which you can detect the problem.

Of course, testing the power board with a meter will require someone that has the ability. So it you can't, then you might be needing the help of a repairman or you can call a friend that has the ability to help you out.

I wish you the best of luck.

Take care........

Yamaha clavinova kights coming but sound not coming

Has the sett been kept off power for some time. If so lett the power on for about 12 hours so that the circuits will breathe in the volatges. Sometimes happens when there is condensation and restricts circuit to perform.
If not also let the power on for sometime. plug the headphones and try if sound is heard if so the speaker connection can be faulty or the speakers.
Other wise the mother board must be checked. if the selected tones are changing, then the audio amplifier must be checked.

TC Electronic D-Two Power unit locked up display

I don't know if this will help. Have you looked for a battery on the circuit board that backs up the memory? A lot of synths use them and when they go the unit quits functioning. Some will start right up again once the battery is replaced others require a system update through a download. Anyways I always recommend contacting the company in question. They should be able to tell you simply whether it needs servicing or not:http://tcsupport.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/tcsupport.cfg/php/enduser/ask.php
