Try pushing the up arrow on the control wheel if you hear no sound during playback of a movie from the G12. The up/down arrows control audio volume during playback.

How to watch Blu-ray movie on your HDTV

Blu-ray movies always provide people with outstanding visual and aural experiences, so you can imagine how wonderful it is to watch BD movies on your widescreen HDTV with your families sitting on the couch comfortably in your living room. Roughly, the ways people used to watching Blu-ray movies are various, and the straightest method is connecting a Blu-ray disc player to a HDTV for playback. However, People also have other solutions even though they have no Blu-ray player, including using an Iomega hard disk media player or a WDTV Media player, Popcorn Hour, Xbox 360, or other media players or devices as a medium, or using an external hard drive to store the BD files and then connect it to HDTV to watch the movies, or using the HDMI port or an S-Video cable to watch videos from PC to HDTV, etc.

Since Blu-ray movies have strict copy protections (AACS, BD+, region code), as well as these intermediates have their requested video formats, for example, some supports mpeg4, divx, and xvid, some supports AVI or WMV, and some supports MKV or others. It is essential to remove BD protections and rip Blu-ray to an appropriate format for playback on HDTV through these in-between devices. You may ask: "what is your method to do format conversion?" Well, the following paragraphs will shed some light on this question.

Software you will need:
Pavtube Blu-Ray Ripper
To find a step-by-step instruction in the following:
Step 1: Install and launch this program, and afterwards you can click "DVD Rom", "DVD Folder" or "IFO/ISO" icon to load your Blu-ray files.

Step 2: Select subtitle and audio track
Click on the pull down menu of "Subtitle", then all the subtitles in the BD movie will be listed out, including language and subtitle ID, you can select one according to your own needs.
Click the drop-down list of "Audio", and then all the info about audio tracks are shown clearly, including language, audio codec(turehd and dts master audio are both supported as well), stream ID, and audio channel, you can choose whatever you like to do conversion.

Step 3: Select output format
Click on the drop down menu of "Format" to select output format. Which one to choose is depending on the compatible formats of your media players or devices that you used to transfer BD files to your HDTV. For instance, if your player is capable of playback .m2ts files, you can choose "Copy"- "Directly Copy", and this option will keep the original quality of your BD content to full extent. If your device allows HD playback, and supports h.264 mp4 format, and then this one would be the correct selection for you. The rest can be done in the same manner.
Directly Copy:
H.264 HD Video .mp4:
Step 4: Set advanced settings
Please notice that this step is unavailable if you have chosen "Directly Copy" in Step 3. Click on "Settings" button, and then you will be able to adjust audio and video parameters including codec, aspect ratio, bit rate, frame rate, sample rate, and audio channels in the popup window as below. 5.1 channels are supported to keep the stunning surround sound of the BD movie.

Step 5: Click "Convert" button to start BD ripping
Once finished, the output files can be found out via clicking on "Open" button effortlessly, and then you can use your own ways to watch Blu-ray movies on your HDTV, such as connecting your PC to your HDTV via S-Video or HDMI cables, or adding them to your media players for playback on the HDTV, or whatever. Just Enjoy it.

What exactly is a "usb movie file"? USB is a data transport method, not a file type.

How to put Blu-ray movie onto BlackBerry Curve 8500, Tour 9630, Storm2 9550,...

Blu-ray is now not new for people anymore, and movie lovers usually have a collection of Blu-ray movies on hand. To take advantage of these wonderful movie contents, users always have the needs of putting BD movies onto their portable devices for playback, like BlackBerry, iPod, iPhone, PSP or whatever else. Without luck, until now, these portable devices can not read Blu-ray files at all, so we have to use a third party software to help us remove the copyright protections and convert BD .m2ts files to the formats that can be supported by these players. Since lots of posts in the board have referred to Blu-ray playback issues on iPod, iPhone, and PSP, my thread here will focus on BlackBerry only, and tell you guys how to enjoy your Blu-rays on whatever series of BlackBerry you have, including Curve 8500, Tour 9630, Storm2 9550, Pearl 8800, etc.
What you will need:
A BD-ROM or BD-R/RE drive
Pavtube Blu-Ray Ripper
How-to:
Step 1: Launch Pavtube Blu-Ray Ripper and load BD files
You can load Blu-ray files to this program via "DVD Rom", "DVD Folder" or "IFO/ISO".

Step 2: Select output format for BlackBerry and set save path
Click the pull down menu of "Format" to select an output format for your BlackBerry, in the format profile, there are lots of options, you can choose one according to the specifications of your smartphone.

Meanwhile, click the folder icon at the opposite side of "Output" to specify the destination folder for storing the output files, if not, the Blu-ray to BlackBerry Converter will export the generated files to the save path set by default automatically. No matter using your specified destination folder or the default save path, the output files can be found out via click "Open" button as soon as the conversion is finished. Furthermore, if you wanna combine multiple .m2ts files to be as a single file, you can achieve this goal via ticking the checkbox "Merge into one file".

Step 3: Adjust audio and video parameters
Click "Settings" button on the main interface, then you will be able to adjust audio and video parameters like codec name, aspect ratio, bit rate, frame rate, sample rate, and audio channels on the popup window.

Step 4: Click "Convert" button to start conversion
Step 5: Enjoy
At this point, you'll have fully functioning Blu-ray playback on your BlackBerry...

Copying movies to computer sound won't play

Most digital HDD sony handycam video cameras encode MPEG-2 files in 5.1 surround sound audio. You probably are not hearing sound because your playback software does not support 5.1 surround sound encoded MPEG-2 files. Try using a newer peice of software with the latest codecs installed.
