Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

My new amazon fire tv streaming device wont dsiplay on my tv. I have everything connected properly to TV via HDMI cable and to comcast ISP router via ethernet cable as well as batteries installed prop

I have checked all the connections several times, tv input is set at HDMI, router port is working and ready and other device tests fine on same port and I have TV screen resolution set to full screen. I also figured out how to reset the amazon fire tv device from the its remote and did that a few times but still no fire tv menu appears on my tv screen.

The Amazon Fire Stick and Roku Streaming Stick both are streaming devices which are being compared in this article. Connecting fire stick to tv. i am a prime member with amazon

Setting up Amazon Fire TV Stick hardware
  1. Plug the micro-USB power cable into your Fire TV Stick and the other end into the plug adapter and into the wall.
  2. Plug your Fire TV Stick into an HDMI port on your TV (a cable is included to extend the HDMI reach if you've got a particularly tricky TV).
  3. Next, turn on your TV and switch the input to the right HDMI port
  4. You won't be able to interact with Fire TV Stick until you pair a remote. Thankfully, by just inserting the batteries into the included remote, it should pair automatically. If this fails, you can download and use the Amazon Fire TV remote app on your phone.
  5. Now it's time to set up your wireless network. Fire TV Stick should automatically detect your Wi-Fi. Select your network and enter any passwords.
  6. Your Fire TV Stick will then check for updates and download anything it doesn't have before letting you continue. Depending on how new your Stick is and the strength of your connection, this could take some time.
  7. If you bought your Fire TV Stick from Amazon, it will have arrived already logged in and set up with your account, which is handy. If not, don't worry, it's very easy to set up a new account on Fire TV, requiring nothing more than your Amazon login details.
  8. Once done, you'll be treated to an unskippable introduction to your Fire TV Stick, taking you through the basics of what the system can do and how to make the most of its features.
  9. From here, you can set up parental control settings before you start using your Fire TV Stick as intended.
Now you've set your Fire TV Stick up, here's how to install Kodi on it.

Do you need an internet connection to use the fire stick

Hi Delores,

The short answer is: Yes, internet access is required.

The device (and those like it including Roku, Chromecast, Apple TV, etc.) contains no programs, movies, audio, etc. Rather, it is a wifi network interface device pre-loaded with sites (and similar) and has the ability to receive signals from the remote to navigate between these site. The selected site is presented via the A/V or HDMI output jacks and cables and are optimized for display on your television.

I hope this helps!

How can I get my new Amazon fire tv stick to install? Every thing is plugged in correctly and powered up but the screen says it "Can't contact Amazon.com so try a new router or wireless network"

Check this first:
  • Connect your Amazon Fire TV device to one of these network or router types:
    • Open, WEP, WPA-PSK, and WPA2-PSK encrypted networks
    • B, G, and N routers on 2.4Ghz
    • A and N routers on 5Ghz
    • Hidden networks
  • Enable wireless connectivity on your Amazon Fire TV device. From the Home screen, select Settings > System > Wi-Fi.
  • Make sure you know your network password (if required). If you see a lock icon, a network password is required. This password is not your Amazon account password.
  • Make sure your Internet connection is not down. Restart your router and modem to solve most Wi-Fi network issues.
  • Do not place your wireless router or Amazon Fire TV device in a cabinet, as it impacts your Wi-Fi signal strength.
Also, try this for Fire TV Stick:
  • Use the included HDMI extender to optimize the location of your Fire TV Stick. The HDMI extender can improve your wireless connectivity by positioning your Fire TV Stick further from the TV.
  • Plug the power cord into the included power adapter and then into a wall outlet to ensure the device receives enough power for optimal performance.

Still having trouble?
  • Restart your Amazon Fire TV device. Disconnect the power cord from your Amazon Fire TV device for three seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
Tip: You can also restart your Amazon Fire TV device with your remote. Press and hold the Select button and the Play button at the same time until the Amazon Fire TV device restarts (about five seconds). Or go to Settings > System > Restart.

Can i watch netflix on my KDL-32EX524 UKA bravia tv?

To watch Netflix you need a (Netflix subscription of course) and a Smart TV with the Netflix app running or if you have an older TV you will need a streaming device like Amazon Fire TV http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GDQ0RMG?ref_=ods_gw_d_h1_tv_montoya_dualUR
which plugs into your HDMI port to access Netflix via a wireless internet connection. The setup is pretty easy. Hope this is helpful.
