Is it running backwards? Check with inlet line open and see if there is any suction there. Is gasket on strainer good and sealing completely. Start of with some water in the strainer to prime and to avoid seal damge by running dry.

Several things to check. Check amp draw with meter to make sure that the reset is not bad. It amp meter is showing low amp draw when it trips, then replace reset. If reset is good check condition of the cold start valve. The valve will not allow pressure to build until motor is at full rpm and the pump is making good pressure/volume. If cold start valve does not close, check pump for leaking or broken reed valves. If cold start valve is good, check the capacitor for at least 10 percent of rated valve. Low pressure /volume is usually leaks from tubing or leaking /broken reed valves or burned gaskets in the head of the pump. Finally, make sure that the check valve or non-return valve is not leaking pressure from the tank causing back pressure. Good luck

Pool pump issue

Copy following link to identify Hayward product and download product manual with troubleshoot section:
Select 'Pumps: above ground' or scroll down to same
Typical troubleshoot section:
Low flow "Check for clogged strainer or suction line, plugged discharge line, air leak in pipes or tubing, bad impeller"
Noisy pump "Check for air leak, foreign matter in pump housing, worn out bearings etc"
Air in line due to loose pipe or tube, clogged intake and outfow, and bad pump is common to both symptoms.

I recently purchased a 20 gal/1.5 HP, model 921.166420. The reset button on the side of the motor, (thermal overload Protector?) cuts out repeatedly. The few times where the motor did run and the pr

Could be weak thermal cutout or actual problem with unit. Thermal cut out easy to check with amp meter. Connect meter as required to monitor draw as unit fills and make sure that it stays at or below usage stated. If amp draw stays below stated usage and thermal cuts out, replace the part. If amp draw goes over amount stated turn off compressor and listen for air leaks (usually check valve will leak back pressure to pump causing extra load on motor).

I'm hearing air like sounds around the multiport valve. There's bubbles visible in the filter going to the pump. Bled the air on the filter itself and bubbles continues. Could the multi port...

Air only gets into the lines of your equipment if it enters somewhere on the suction side of the system. That means from the pump housing and strainer BACK to the pool on the inlets. Once the water passes from the impeller out the discharge of the pump it is under pressure and any leaks will result in water escaping from the line.

While your filter may or may not need work air is likely the result of failing gaskets or a seal in the pump. Replace the strainer lid ring, the pump body ring and the mechanical seal first. If there is still air look at the valve or valves in front of the pump for controlling inlet water flow...check for leaking stems or failing pipe joints.

Losing pressure after about 15 mins pool pump stars really well but then seems to lose pressureleaf catcher before pemp seems to get air in it is this pump or pipes

If the inlet strainer gets air in it, the pump will lose prime. Fill the inlet strainer basket with water, make sure the cover is on air tight. Start the pump and watch the inlet strainer, the amount of air trapped should not increase, if it does, you have a leak somewhere on the piping between the pool and the pump.

We do not know where the air filter valves are

Air filter?

Remove the strainer basket cover ... fill with water ... check the gasket ... replace if questionable ... close the cover and SNUG the top down. Start the pump ... it should run just fine.

If you are sucking air, tighten the strainer basket cover a little.

Still sucking air? You will have to find the air leak. You might plug the leak with plumbers putty.

Low water level kenmore elite front loader i have cleaned the hose strainer, water pressure 55 psi can i adjust

Whats tthe model number on the washer? I wana check if that model has a "water flow meter". Does the washer fill then give you an error code about the water pressure? Is this the HEt front load washer? If so, open the top panel. 2 screws are located on the back upper corners. one on each side. slide the panel back and lift up. Now you will see the inside from the top view. Now if it does have a "water forw meter" it should be inline with the water inlet caomming in. Its looks like a plastic like tube that is in the middel in the inlet water coming in..i would check that out.

I can not get vacuum pressure on my Hayward Sand Filter. I am using the Aquabug auto vacuum(which I've used over the last three seasons). When I fill the hose and put it into the skimmer port, I lose...

The filter is most likely not the issue at all.
When you lose vacuum pressure and see bubbles the problem is usually air getting into the line killing the prime. The most common place that air gets into the line is from the strainer cover on the pump. The clear lid on the front of the pump has an o-ring that after 3 years is probably due for replacement.
With a bad o-ring it's easier for the pump to draw air through the lid then water through 20+ feet of vac hose. Replace the o-ring, make sure it is lubed well with a non petrol based grease.
The only other issue that may cause this is a cracked or seriously warped strainer lid, which should be easy to recognize once it is removed to replace the o-ring.
Once this is done you should be fine.

Vacumn pump dos not work

Manual or Automatic?

Usually the problem is a worn out Strainer basket oring. With the addtional strain of trying to draw water through 40ft of vac hose it is easier to draw air from a worn out strainer o ring. My suggestion is to reverse prime, replace o ring if leaking and make sure you lube it with a silicon based lube.
