Is Ikebana a style of floral design? what is it?

Ikebana is japanese floral arranging. this is a minimalist style that emphasizes other parts of the flowers than just the blooms, like the stem and leaves. It is considered a form of art that joins humanity with nature.

Cut Fresh Flowers to Last Longer

I love having fresh cut flowers in the house, they add so much color and life. What I have noticed is that I usually have to replace them because once they've been cut they never seem to last longer than a few days. I spent a bit of time expreimenting with different techniques for preserving fresh cut flowers so that they will last longer than just a few days. These are the best techniques that I was able to come up with.

The Proper way to cut flowers

Most people, myself included, think that cutting stems with regular scissors is okay. This is not the case, when you cut flower stems with scissors that aren't meant for cutting stems you can crush the stems and will block the flow of water to the flowers. Simply usng pruning sheers will work wonders for your flowers. Be sure to cut your stems underwater because you want to prevent air from going up the stem and blocking the flow of water to the flowers.

Mixing different things into the water that you place the bouquet in can help to preserve your flowers. I have to note that you should pick one of these methods and not mix all the suggestions together.

Putting a few drops of liquid bleach and a teaspoon of grandulated white sugar in a quart of water will work wonders. Mixing equal parts of lemon-lime soda and water is very good for your fresh cut flowers. If you don't have the soda on hand you can always use a teaspoon of white sugar, two tablespoons of white vinegar and a quart of water to preserve your flowers.
I like to use the lemon-lime method the most especially when you are going to be putting the flowers into a glass vase and will be on display immediatly. There is something beautiful about the bubbles in the water.

Lo cate instrction manual LGwashing-machine model

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Manual
You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make model number) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount.
You could also try the manufacturer's web site direct ;-0)

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

I have a n80sb-1 bostich nail gun. How do you remove the tva-11 valve once the roll pins are out. Thanks

There are a couple ways. The easiest is to use an air blower at a very low pressure such as 10psi. Put the nose of the blow gun at the end of the nailer where the air hose connecting stem is and blow into it. The valve will pop right out. Another way is to carefully grasp the trigger valve stem with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull. Just be careful if it has the plastic valve pin as you can damage it. Later models use a metal pin. You can also use a small pick such as a dental pick and get the valve out by prying it at the rear of the housing.

I can't remove the impeller on a 4hp Speck pump...I've worked on several 3/4 to 3 hp pool pumps but this one is a first...also, how is the seal plate attached? maybe I'll figure that out if I'm able to...

If the shaft seal has been leaking for some time the stem on the impeller has likely spit due to corrosion on the motor shaft. This makes it near impossible to un screw the impeller. You can try and isolate the armature of the motor and use a channel lock on the impeller. The only other way to get it off is by breaking it. Use a flat head screwdriver and a hammer and break apart the area around the center of the impeller until you can pry off the everything but the stem. You'll have to remove the ceramic part of the seal and pick out as much of the stem as you can. Then you can get the wetend off the motor and remove the metal cup seal.

The teeth that the setting knob engages with are worn down. these are located in the panel circling the metal stem. how to fix

If you are talking about the control knob to set the desired cycle you can use a two part apoxy in the hole on the knob being sure the knob is in the correct position before appling the knob with the two part epoxy(this is very important) Let it dry and the knob should not spin on the shaft anymore.
