Not exactly sure - but some tablets designate internal stg for the operating system and built-in apps and data such as address book or contacts, the settings app, etc. the endeavor stg may be the remaining available for your apps, data and media. Some updaters require extra working room to update an app - look in your settings and see if you set a default location for the apps and media you install. Another thing you can try is to delete the app and then reinstall it from the play store, the reinstall should grab the latest version. It also looks like you can add memory via SD card - probably a micro SD - 16gb is fairly inexpensive. Insert the card then mount it - look in your settings to see if you can set it as your default location or if it is offered as a choice when attempt to install an app. Some operating systems only allow media such as music, photos and videos to be stored on SD card memory - if possible, do a google search for your tablet model to find a manual.

How do I update on my Lenovo tablet when it says insufficient storage

Hi Debra

I don't use the Lenovo , I use an iPad
But

If they are using internal fixed memory and there is no way to connect an external SIMM memory chip. And you have reached the maximum memory of the devices configuration. Eg 16gb
Then the only way to free up space is to start removing Photos, Movies and APP's from your device. They all take up space in memory.

Check out the Upgrade capabilities below

Not downloading to the sd card

If you are referring to apps you are downloading, that is probably correct. Most apps will not use the SD card to run (or load). It takes more programming for apps to use the SD card than not to, and since many users do not have an SD card installed, most apps won't use it. That is the falsehood that comes with tablets and eReaders. Users are led to believe that even though the tablet may not have a lot of internal memory that they can add an SD card. That works fine for personal files and photos, but not for apps and their data. Users need to know that if they want a lot of apps on their tablet, they need a tablet with a boatload of internal memory.

Hasn't saved anything to the memory card because his tablet won't allow him to .. It keeps saying not enough space it's a 8GB memory card

The internal memory cards of some Android devices are partitioned for app storage and installation. Some of them have partitions that are quite small such as one Gigabyte or smaller. The remainder of the storage cannot be used for apps.

If it keeps saying not enough memory space then chances are the app partition is full. The only way to free up some space is to uninstall some apps that are stored there but not being used. You can see which apps can be uninstalled in Settings > Apps and look at them one by one to see if an uninstall option is listed. Simply click *uninstall* to remove them from the app storage partition. This will free up some extra space for some new apps or for updates to older apps you still like and use.

Also some of the apps might show an option to move them to an external SD card (if your device has a slot for one and if an SD card in inserted therein). Do move any and all to the external SD card of you have that option as that will also free up that space from the internal SD card.

How can I clean my storage, I ran out of room!

You can release more storage room by going into Settings and then into Storage. Clear the cache to get more storage space. Some tablets have their storage divided into two partitions. The first one is usually 1 or 2 GBs. The second has the rest. You can go into your Settings and then into Apps/Applications, click on an app and see if there is a button to move the app from the tablet to the second partition, which can be named differently on different tablets (internal SD, external storage, SD, etc.) Move as many apps as are allowed. Know that apps that can be moved will not move the entire app, only a portion of it, but this will free up a lot of memory on you primary partition and often speed up your tablet. It is a good idea to leave some room (100-150 mb) on your primary storage partition, so you can download files. If it is too full, the tablet will not be able to download files.

Bought a 32GB sd card for Azpen A727 do not know how to transfer apps or downloads to card?

Although the Android phones and tablets can add (micro) SD cards, that will not extend the internal memory. You should see the SD card as a extra hard disk. Here you can hold pictures and music. As soon as you installed extra apps, and the phone or tablet is telling you the memory is full, you only can free memory, by deleting apps from the main memory.

If you thought I can buy a phone or tablet with less memory, because the SD cards are very cheap and will extend the internal memory, you thought wrong.

You can't transfer an app to the memory card and still use it as if it was in the main memory.

I cant opn any apps with my cobykyros mid7022, help!

Try Reset your Tablet lol, this works with devices having physical home button:- 1. Press the power button and the home button together for a while, long enough until the screen appears with Android bot and a progress bar which shows that it's formatting the internal memory.
With NO physical HOME button:-
2. In case your device does not have a physical home button, press the power button and both the volume keys together for few seconds.
3. Press gently the "reset pin-hole" present generally on a side of Tablet. Use a clip-pin or similarly fine thing to gently push inside to reset your device to factory settings.
NOTE: You'll not only lose the apps on your internal memory and the data associated with it. All the device updates will also be lost and you'll have the version of Android your tablet came with.
