How do I Pull apart a Simplicity Synchrony?

The noise is likely the brush roll or the lower motor fan if you only hear it when you turn on the brush roll. Remove the bottom plate to examine the brush roll, there are screws on the bottom of the vacuum that must be removed so that the top nozzle housing cover can be removed. Remove the screws to take the cover off the nozzle housing from the brushroll to the lower motor so you will be able to inspect the fan in the lower motor. You have a high quality precision vacuum that is not easy to repair without proper training. It may save money and provide better results to have it repaired by a qualified Simplicity or Riccar repair shop.

HOW TO CANGE BELT ON SIMPLICITY 9.8 VACUUM

This is pretty easy. Turn vac upside down, remove brush cover, brush with belt on it pops out on each side. You must get the exact replacement belt so take your model number and any other numbers to vacuum repair shop. The belt around brush then around motor spindle, replace brush and cover.

My simplicity 7200 does not have vacuum. Air comes out the front post filter area

If air is coming out of the filter air has to be going in through the suction hose but it may be restricted with a clog. Replace the bag and both filters. If it's been over six months since the belt has been changed start by changing the belt. Most of the vacuums brought to my store with the customer stating "it has no suction" actually have great suction but no agitation from the brush roll. If the belt is not turning the brush roll fast enough when vacuuming the carpets it will not even pickup lint and hair.

Simplicity F3500-- how do I get the bottom off to change the belt?

To change the belt on the Simplicity F3500, unplug the vacuum and turn it upside down. There are two tabs (one on each side) behind the beater bar that hold the cover on the vacuum. Press these tabs inward and lift the bottom plate away from the unit.

Then remove the brushroll and the worn or broken belt from the pulley on the side of the brush roll and the drive shaft. Loop the new belt over the driveshaft and the brushroll. Replace the brushroll in the housing and turn it by hand. Make sure that the belt is seated on the driveshaft and pulley with no twists. Also check that all of the rotating parts will move.

Then put the bottom cover back on by aligning the back hinges and then pressing the plate down until both sides click.

For pictures of the cover removal process, look at page 15 in the manual. The direct link is http://www.simplicityvac.com/about-my-simplicity/manuals/FreedomManual_Update0803.pdf . Most Simplicity vacuum manuals are available at their support site: http://www.simplicityvac.com/about-my-simplicity/manuals/ .

I hope this helps.

Sounds like carbon brushes or bad motor.

Simplicity freedom vacuum has a burnt rubber smell

If the belt is continually wearing out I would think that the brush cylinder is not free to rotate. Take the belt off and ensure that the brush cylinder moves freely. If is does not, then you need to investigate why - probably something wound round it that has jammed it.
