A binding flush lever or insufficient slack in the flapper chain can prevent the flapper from reseating.

How do I adjust the flapper on the Fluidmaster 400AK Complete Toilet Tank Repair Kit For 1.6 GPF?

I struggled myself for a while looking at many online videos, replaced the flapper and the toilet still flushed on it's own! I noticed that the flapper chain got often stuck when the flapper lowered down, which caused water still running out and than I came up with my own idea; there is a white plastic fastener inside the water tank for the flush handle outside, that got apparently loose in time and can be even fastened manually, no tool needed! This fixed my problem! I haven't seen this tip anywhere, so I wanted to share it.

95 legacy awd Leaking transmission fluid out of the rear transfer case

If you have the space drop the drive line . You should have a tranny shaft poking out of the housing and the seal should be right at the back. 2 ways you can go. Get a good heavy screwdriver and lever out the seal or drill a small hole and with a slide hammer pull ot the seal. To fit the new seal use a piece of pipe That has the same dia as the outside of the seal tap the new seal in keeping it square to the hole. Tap in till level with edge of case. Check oil level and replace any lost oil as some will run out when you drop the drive line

Help with gas fumes smell

Was fuel smell present before you had fuel pump replaced? If yes I would sugest you drop tank and see if fuel vent hose is plugged forcing fuel back pressure line to vent through cap. If fuel smell was not present before you replaced fuel pump and seal. I would suggest you drop tank back out and check all fittings and hose conections. also if you still have old sending unit you could check to make sure they are exactly the same. As Sometimes you have to pull relief valve from old sending unit and install it in the new one, as some sending units wont have one in it. and some will have one that is regulated at a different fuel pressure. hope this helps Vic

Is it good to flush a transmission after 220,000 miles?

NO it's not good, just give the transmission a normal transmission fluid and filter change. Flushing the transmission fluid may loosen up any thing that is keeping the O rings and seals from leaking and flushing out the transmission may cause it the fail much sooner then expected. My transmission on my 96 jimmy has over 365,000 miles and still going strong. You may want to replace the boost valve to ensure your getting the proper transmission line pressure, as the transmission get's older, the boost valve weakens causing the line pressure to drop. As the line pressure drops, the transmission starts to slip wearing out your clutch packs. I replace mine every service and the boost valve is not that expensive and can be replaced when the transmission pan is dropped. Good luck and hope this helps answer your question.

Main oven door not sealing. How do you adjust the cam type action of the hinges to ensure flush seating of the door? thanks

If it has a drop down door, then no adjustment is possible, the only solution is to replace both hinges.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

Oil leak at rear of gearbox it is a new exchange just fitted I also replaced the slip yoke and uni joint and fitted the genuine seal. toyota hilux with w58 5 speed

well, after all that, it should not leak a drop. if the yoke is new, then either the seal is bad/damaged or the bushing has too much play, allowing the yoke to "wobble" and the seal is unable to contain the oil. another thing to verify is that the vent is open and not plugged.

An old eljer toilet with the drop ball and brass guides. I cannot get the ball to seal well. What can it be?

I think I have a similar toilet--I found at Lowes a new "drop ball" that seals the hole in the tank. You're drop ball might be disintegrating from the hard water in the tank. Take the tank cover off and shut off the water before flushing the toilet. Once it's flushed pull up the drop ball. Feel if it's still solid or not. It is easily removed by unscrewing it from the rest of the assembly connecting to the flushing handle. Unfortunately for me, the one they had at Lowes was slightly different in shape than the one I had, so I had to return it and deal with the older one. good luck!

Flush valve drops before bowl completes flush

is the flapper weighted? if it is it will cause it to shut prematurely. one thing you can do is increase the water in the tank. you might have to buy a pvc cuppler to put on the over flow to allow it to fill up more. korky makes a nice flapper thats not weighted
