Sir in my machine there was paper jam , but I had removed that properly.After that It start showing 1st side cover is open error massage, but side cover is duly closed.It have tried my best cleaning and closing again and again but in vain.The Problem is still there.

Please check the sensors on board, in this case cover sensor and the sensor of the paper path starting with tray.

Check the 2 actuator at Right Door assy, may be broken, so while closing it is not blocking/hitting the sensors on body.
check properly - at Rear-Top & Front-Below on Right Door assy.

My konica bizhub 163 gives massage 1st side cover open close 1st side cover,how do i clear the massage. pliz help me.


1st Side cover is front cover.The cover which you use to open to install or check toner bottle.When you close that cover and machine gives caution then it means cover is not properly closed

The 1st side cover switch is not working properly.
There is a knob at the end of the front cover, make sure it it aligned with the switch.
Front cover Micro Switch can be dirty due to toner spilling/dropping inside the machine.Clean it and then recheck.

Hear Is The Soluction which Help You To Fix Your Brother MFC 210C Photo Copy Problem,

Description: Issues with the paper feed could include:
  • Feeding multiple pages.
  • Misfeeds the paper.
  • Printed pages are not stacked neatly.
  • "No Paper Fed" or "Paper Jam" messages appear on the LCD.

To prevent these issues, try the following recommendations:
  1. Verify the paper is loaded properly in the paper tray and the paper support flap is unfolded.
  1. Pull the paper tray out of the machine and remove the output paper tray.

  1. Remove the paper from the paper tray.
  2. Pull the paper support out and unfold the paper support flap.

  1. Fan the stack of paper well to avoid paper jams and misfeeds.

  1. Gently insert the paper into the paper tray print side face down and the leading edge (top of the paper) in first. The paper should be flat in the tray and below the maximum paper mark. Be sure you do not push the paper in too far as it may lift at the end of the tray and cause feed problems.

  1. Press and slide the paper guides on the sides of the paper to fit the paper width.

  1. Clean the paper pick-up roller


    NOTE: Illustrations shown below are from the representative product and may differ from your Brother machine.
    1. Pull the paper tray completely out of the machine.
    2. Unplug the machine from the AC power outlet and remove the Jam Clear Cover (1).

    Note DO NOT place the jam clear cover face down as shown in the illustration. You may damage the cover and cause paper jam.

    1. Clean the Paper Pick-up Roller (1) with isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab.

    2. Put the Jam Clear Cover back on. Make sure the cover is set properly.

    3. Put the paper tray firmly back in the machine.
    4. Re-connect the power cord.

  2. Verify there is only ONE type of paper loaded in the paper tray.
  3. Make sure that you use paper that meets our specifications.

  4. Do not use paper that is damaged, curled, wrinkled, or irregularly shaped.

  1. Open the Outer Back(Rear) Cover (1) at the back of the machine. Pull the jammed paper out of the machine.

  2. Close the Inner Back(Rear) Cover (1) if it is open as shown in the illustration.

  3. Close the Outer Back(Rear) Cover. Make sure the cover is closed properly.

  4. Pull the paper trays (1) out of the machine.

  5. Push the two green levers up on both sides.

  6. Pull out the jammed paper (1) and press Stop/Exit.

  7. Push the green duplex unit up.

  8. Reset the machine by lifting the scanner cover from the front of the machine and then closing it.
    If you cannot remove the jammed paper from the front of the machine, or the error message still appears on the LCD after you have removed the jammed paper, please go to the next step.

  9. Using both hands, use the plastic tabs on both sides of the machine to lift the Scanner Cover (1) into the open position. Make sure that there is no jammed paper left in the corners of the machine under the plastic covers.

    Note
    • If ink gets on your skin or clothing immediately wash it off with soap or detergent.

    • If the paper is jammed under the print head, unplug the machine from the power source, and then move the print head to take out the paper.

    • If the print head has stopped in the right corner as shown in the illustration, you cannot move the print head. Press Stop/Exit until the print head moves to the middle. Then unplug the machine from the power source, and take out the paper.

    1. Gently close the scanner cover using the finger holds on both sides of it as you push down on the Scanner Cover Support (1).

    Caution Be careful not to trap your fingers under the scanner cover. Always use the finger holds provided on both sides of the scanner cover when opening and closing it.

    1. Push paper tray #1 and paper tray #2 firmly back into the machine.

    Note Make sure you pull out the paper support until it clicks.

This error is associated with either a sheet of paper blocking the paper path or a partial piece of paper that blocks path or trips a sensor. The printer will usually throw up a error code 13.XX on the display and the XX is a number that will indicate where in the paper path this error most probably occurred. Just follow the steps for your error on the below chart.

If the message persists after all jams have been cleared, a sensor or sensor lever might be stuck or broken. For all jam messages, do the following: 1. Remove jammed print media from the specified location. Check the entire paper path for other pieces of media in the path. 2. Open and close the top cover to clear the message. 3. Check sensors and flags in the paper path for proper operation. 3.0 PAPER JAM [LOCATION] A non-specific paper jam occurred. 1. Remove jammed media from the specified location. 2. Verify the paper tray is fully closed. 3. Inspect and/or replace the feed and separation rollers. 4. Ensure there is no obstruction in the path, such as a torn piece of paper. 5. Open and close the top cover to clear the message. 6. Check sensors and flags for proper operation. 13.1 PAPER JAM OPEN INPUT TRAYS Paper-delay jam at paperfeed area. 1. Ensure that paper trays are loaded and adjusted properly so media can feed from the tray. It might be necessary to reduce the stack height of media in the tray. 2. Check the input area for obstructions such as media in the path. Also check to see if the registration assembly damaged or unseated. 3. Replace any defective sensors or flags. 4. Verify the media meets the specifications. 5. Check the pickup feed and separation rollers for unusual wear. Replace as needed. 6. Rotate the media in the input tray by 180° and/or turn it over On NX engines this is most likely the fuser flag or the ACPM. The ACPM has a photosensor hard-wired to the back of it. 13.10 PAPER JAM CHECK DUPLEXER Jam at duplexer. 1. Check the duplexer and the rear area of the printer for obstructions or damage. 2. Check the duplexer for proper operation. Replace the duplexer if a sensor is defective. On a 5si, 8000, or 8100 series laserjet a Duplex Jam can be caused by a tray 2 and 3 feed assembly failure. 13.14 For Laserjet 5si. This error is caused by a defective paper control PCA Replace paper control PCA. 13.2 PAPER JAM OPEN INPUT TRAYS Paper-stopped jam at paper-feed area. 1. Check the input area for obstructions such as paper in the path. Also check to see if the registration assembly is damaged or if the transfer roller is out of place. 2. Replace any defective sensors or flags. 3. Ensure the media does not exceed the maximum length. 4. If multiple sheets are feeding, it might be necessary to fan the media and reduce the stack height. Also, replace separation pad. 5. Verify that the fuser is properly installed. On NX engines this is an input jam. 13.20 PAPER JAM CHECK REAR DOOR Media stopped in the paper path during power on or when the top door was closed. 1. Remove all media in the paper path, and then open and close the top cover. 2. If the message persists after all media is removed: Check if media is jammed in the prefeed area. Replace any defective sensors or flags 13.21 DOOR OPEN JAM The top cover was open while printing. 1. Clear the jam and close the top door. 2. If the message persists, check the top door switch for proper operation. 13.5 PAPER JAM CHECK REAR DOOR Paper-delay jam at fuser. 1. Check the transfer roller and small media belt to ensure they are operating and can feed print media. 2. Check the paper path for obstructions at the transfer roller, toner cartridge, paper feed assembly, and fuser. 3. Replace any defective sensors or flags. 4. Turn the media stack over and/ or rotate it by 180° in the input tray. If still persists - replace fuser, then DC controller. 13.6 PAPER JAM CHECK REAR DOOR Paper-stopped jam at fuser. 1. Check the paper path for obstructions at the fuser and output/delivery area. 3. Replace any defective sensors or flags. 13.99 PAPER JAM [LOCATION] A non-specific paper jam occurred. 1. Remove jammed media from the specified location. 2. Verify the paper tray is fully closed. 3. Inspect and/or replace the feed and separation rollers. 4. Ensure there is no obstruction in the path, such as a torn piece of paper. 5. Open and close the top cover to clear the message. 6. Check sensors and flags for proper operation

Jammed paper


There are 3 places to check for jammed paper.

Turn off the fax machine, then remove the tray and open the back cover, and open the front cover to remove the drum and toner (cartridge) and look inside machine.

After you find the jammed paper put the cartridge and tray back in machine and close all the covers.

Error message should go away.

Paper jam and still won't print


Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Before you can clear the error message, you must locate where in the unit the paper is jammed.

Unplug the machine for safety. Now follow these instructions based on where the paper jam is located.

1. Pull the paper tray out of the machine.
2. Pull out the jammed paper.
3. Reset the machine by opening the Upper Jam Clear Cover and then closing it.

If you cannot remove the jammed paper from the front of the machine, or the error message still appears on the LCD after you have removed the jammed paper, please go to the next step.

4. Remove the Lower Jam Clear Cover from the back of the machine. Pull the jammed paper out of the machine.

5. Put the Lower Jam Clear Cover back on. Make sure the cover is set properly.

6. Open the Upper Jam Clear Cover. Make sure that there is no jammed paper left in the corners of the machine.
Note: If the paper is jammed under the print head, unplug the machine from the power source, then move the print head to take out the paper. 7. Close the Upper Jam Clear Cover.

8. Close the output paper tray cover and slide it forward, then push the paper tray firmly back into the machine. While holding the paper tray in place, pull out the paper support until it clicks and unfold the paper support flap.

Message on brother MFC7420 "back door open" when it's not


Actually, you need to double check the back cover and front cover, open them all to check all paper jam.
Besure to check the back cover, normally all paper jam is from the back.
be sure to close the front cover at the last cover to close.
