Ok, the motor turns, but throws sparks on the brushes. This is normal to an extent for universal motors used on that type of equipment.
Try reassembling the saw, and put a blade on it, then try it. If it runs, try cutting a piece of scrap 1x, both crosscut & rip. If the motor can't hold the load, you may still have to replace it.

Are you using original parts or pattern
All brushes are made from carbon but they vary in their hardness and motor makers match the materials for the different applications
Soft brushes wear away quite quickly and hard brushes wear out the commutator of the armature
As stated by the other helper the segments of the armature can lift or go dead which makes the brushes arc when they stop conducting as they hit the dead segment and then spark when they pick up the next conductive one
Look at the commutator with a strong light if there are segments that are more of a blue colour that the rest they are the damaged ones.
You will see scorching on the leading edge of the next good segment.
If that is the case then new armature & carbons is the way to go

If you are mechanically inclined and it sounds that way do you have a volt ohms meter?? If so start at the cord and check the continuity to the brush holders. Why did you replace the field? You might have had a stuck brush or some other problem. Make sure the brushes move freely in the tubes and also look for discoloration on the commutator of the armature. Let me know what you find and I will try and help you thru the rest of it.
