Windows operating systems allow you to set up an administrator password, which prevents unauthorized users from downloading applications and making system changes without your permission.

Restart the Acer Aspire.
When Windows boots up, select the username you want to reset the password for and press "Enter."


Click "Use your password reset disk" to launch the password reset wizard. The password reset wizard enables you to create a new password for your user account.

Click "Next" on the password reset wizard and insert the password reset disk.
Click "Next."

Type your new password in the "Type a new password" box and type the password again in the confirmation box.

Create Password Reset Disk
Turn on your laptop.
Insert a USB flash drive or other removable media.
This is where you will keep your password reset information.
According to Microsoft, you can only create one if you are a local user.
If your computer is on a network or domain, an administrator must reset your password.


Click the "Start" button. Click "Control Panel." Open "User Accounts and Family Safety." Click "User Accounts."


On the left-hand side, click "Create a Password Reset Disk."
Follow the instructions.
When completed, store your removable media in a safe place that you can access if you need to reset your password.

Reset Password

Turn on your laptop and log in to Windows.
If you cannot log in because you enter the wrong password,
Windows will show a message that you entered an incorrect password. Click "OK."Click "Reset Password."


Insert your password reset disk drive.

Follow the instructions in the Password Reset wizard.
This will allow you to create a new password.
Log in to Windows with the new password.
You can use the same password reset disk any time you need to reset your password.
Change Password
Turn on your laptop and log in to Windows.
Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete. A new screen will appear that gives you several options.
Click "Change a Password."
Type in your old password. Type in a new password.
Type your new password again.
Press Enter.

Write down your new password and keep it in a safe place.

you can download a piece of software called ophcrack and burn it to a cd, then put the cd in when the computer turns on and it should be able to crack the password for you.
