Panasonic tv channel reset

I broke our tv remote control - I am stuck on four preset stations - cannot reach channel 3 to get to our cable - we have tried 2 universal remotes - neither will work - is there a way to manually reset the preset channels?

I have just got a kv-20s43 and your best bet is to try to restore settings, here, To reset TV to factory settings, turn the TV on, Then, while pressing the reset button on the remote control, press POWER on the TV. The TV will turn itself off, then back on, the original settings wiill be restored... definition: ch. fix- 2-6: Select when you want to control all channel selection through a cable box. Select the appropriate channel(usually 3 or 4) and use the cable box's remote control for channel selection. TV locked on channel 3 and have no remote

Thats EXACTLY what happened to our tv!

Ours was originally locked on channel 4 but I left it unplugged overnight and now its oddly stuck on channel 3.

The only thing I can think of to do is try to search for/buy a remote that will work on the tv to bring the menu up again. I don't know how to manually reset it or do anything.

Tv/remote input problems

Try plugging your cable box in using a/v cables (red, white, yellow) and see if you have a picture on a different input from the box. If so, go into your general settings in the box and change the output channel to 4 instead of 3. Then try your TV on 4 and see if your picture comes in. I have seen TV tuners go out on just one channel before.

Remotes do not work with TV

Since you can change the channels with the cable remote, I will assume that you are changing the channels on the cable box. You can find out if the Panasonic remote is broken by taking a camera with an LCD viewfinder (such as a camera phone) in a dark room, point the remote at the camera and in the viewfinder you will see a light coming from the remote if it is working. If you see a light, chances are the remote is good. You are probably correct that the remote receiving unit inside the set is the issue. To check it, if you have some technical ability.: There are three pins on the RRU. 1 is ground, 1 has 5 volt standby voltage and one has about 5 volts on it until a button is pushed on the remote, then it will drop to about 2 volts. If the last will not occur then it is the RRC. I cannot access a schematic at this time to give you reference numbers or the correct pin configuration, but, I can another time. Leadtech

Channel selection

What you need to do is take the remote, go into the menu, find channel scan and do a channel scan to find all the available stations available on this system. Make sure the TV set is in the cable mode and not antenna mode or you wont get any stations above channel 13.
