Question about IncrediMail

1 Answer

Why don'ft most of the sounds I add to emails do not have sound? Some sounds do and most don't. It's the midi sounds that do not have sound.

I downloaded some sounds from incredimail website so that I could add sounds to my email. Most of the sounds are there, but when I add to email, they are silent, those ones with the midi sounds. The other sounds that are not midi play. I have windows 8.1.

SOURCE: cant send or receive emails

1) Make sure you have a good Internet connection, make sure you can access a web page, any will do.

2) Assuming you've got a good connection, you need to go through your email set up/connection settings carefully again. I mis-spelled password or name will cause failure.

Do not get MIDI signal via EDIROL UA25

Midi is data only, there is no actual sound to the midi tracks themselves. They need to be assigned to either a software synth or an external synth to actually make the sounds you want to hear.

For instance if you load a demo of a midi sequance you will need to add a software synth such as the TTS-1 or Roland sound canvas which are general midi compatable and will play the instruments sounds assigned to the demo's midi channels. Use the Synth Rack feature in Sonar to open one of them. Then you will need to assign the output of each of the midi tracks to that particular synth and you will get sound. Make sure to assing the synth's audio track to you UA-25 as its audio output.

I would suggest reading in the manual and following the tutorials included in the manual to get yourself familier with how this is all done. spacer.gif

How do you get sound coming from the keyboard without an amplifier?

You don't... in two words... this unit is NOT intended to generate sound without and external generator and amplifier... or you can use the puny sound generation in a connected PC.

MY MIDI NOR SIGMA TEL HAS SOUND OUTPUT

Signma Tel is notoriously bad for recording. It often doesn't work. But try changing your driver mode and then running the wave profiler. restart everything and make sure that your sound card is chosen under playback timing master and recordi timing master so that it is the chosen card. UNLESS- the keyboard has it's own sound card or interface built in, then its a different thing. You'll have to find out what kind of drivers THAT card uses and do same thing choosing that as card with correct drivers. Also check MIDI devices and make sure its in there. U might wanna email tech cuz this is a little more complicated than a regular set up

Sound module & mic (connected to a Tascam US-224) not working

I may be able to help.  I am a longtime Mac and Tascam control surface user.  I am currently running a MacBook Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz running OS 10.5.6 with a Tascam FW-1884 audio interface/mixer/control surface connected.

Setup is fairly easy in the Mac OS.  Here are the steps I'd follow:

NOTE: Before beginning the following process make sure that ALL of your MIDI gear is connected.

- Tascam connected to USB port of computer
- MIDI Keyboard "OUT" connected to Tascam "IN"
- Roland "IN" connected to Tascam "OUT"

1) Open your "Applications" folder.
2) Open the "Utilities" folder.
3) Double-click on "Audio MIDI Setup."
4) At the top of the window select "MIDI Devices"
5) In the pull-down menu on the left select "New Configuration."
6) Title your configuration and press "OK"
7) If your gear has been detected automatically their names and icons should appear in the main window.  If so, skip down to step 12
8) Click on the "Add Device" button
9) Double-click on the "new external device" button that has now been created.
10) Select your device's manufacturer and model (i.e. Roland, JV-1010).
11) Adjust any other settings appropriate to your setup.

[In the main window there should be a Tascam US-224 button.  On it there should be one pair of arrows that indicate the MIDI In and MIDI Out ports of the device.]

12) Click (and hold) on the MIDI Out arrow of the US-224 button.
13) Drag the "cord" and attach it to the MIDI In of the Roland JV-1010 button.
13) Click (and hold) on the MIDI In arrow of the US-224 button.
14) Drag the "cord" and attach it to the MIDI Out of the "keyboard" button.

This should get you setup from a Mac OS/Device routing perspective.  For the appropriate US-224 Control Panel settings refer to the User Manual.

Tascam 144 sony acid pro 6 no sound from midi track

It sounds like you may be confused on what the MIDI part actually does. MIDI records your performance, not your sound. Then you assign and play back the recorded performance to either a virtual instrument (in which case you should here sound from your computer) or to a real physical MIDI capable instrument (in which case you would here the sound coming from that real instrument instead of the computer).
The ends of the MIDI cables themselves are identical, not IN or OUT.

Using Keyboard for Mbox 1

You have to select the port in Pro Tools, but the computer has to recognise the MIDI port first.Does P.T. see that you have a MIDI port installed? Did you select an instrument plug in and map the keyboard as the controller for the plug in? You may need to use a utility like MIDI Yoke or MIDIOX to map the port if you are using Windows. You also have to have the drivers installed so that Windows recognises it as a MIDI port. If it is on a Mac you may have to use the Audio/Midi setup up utility to add the midi port.

Best of luck, Let me know if I can help further.

Electronic drum kit, with USB out, problem

Sounds to me like you have the midi tracks outputting to the microsoft midi mapper or wavetable synth, which is built into the sound chip in your pc, and that this is conflicting with the mobilepre sound card - midi is just data, no audio, needs to drive some kind of synth. what you want to do is disable your internal sound card thru device manager, then just use the m-audio mobile pre as the input/output sound card in ASIO mode - you'll need to monitor via the headphone jack on the mobile pre or plug speakers into the line outs on the interface.

Then do tutorial 8 (in help files) on using soft synths - INSERT>SOFTSYNTHs creates a midi track and an audio track in a track folder.

Good luck.

The dude.

Hi need sound

Certain early models of the Sound Blaster cannot do both MIDI input and wave (audio) output at the same time. Thus, if you've selected "Creative Labs" as a MIDI In device in Cakewalk’s Options | MIDI Devices dialog, wave audio output won't work. Note that MIDI output will work fine along with wave audio output: you can select Creative Labs from the list of MIDI Out devices. The problem occurs only when you've selected the Creative Labs MIDI In device.

Hope that helps!
