Question about Samsung Televison & Video

1 Answer

When I run the wireless setup on my Samsung PN518000 plasma tv it times out and does not obtain the necessary IP information. Does the community feel replacing the wifi module in the TV will fix this problem. Its the only device in the house that won't connect to the wireless router. I have eliminated the router.

some {most } tv's to be fair to samsung { and i see holes in there products for sure} need firmware updates you need the correct programming cable and flash the firmware before all accepts will work as a last attempt look for this may solve the issue firmware to samsung is flashed to the tv from PC by the makers flash software using the last firstware block otherwise you need too look for a controller board for your tv with the correct V number of firmware i think the wifi module or its antenna has issues or the controller board i dont see it having a plug in wifi card but if it has replace it and retry

Did you check out the menu setting for wifi setting first

then check too see if there is something mode wise isnt right
i would setup a hot spot on your phone and try that
if it connects to the phone and not too your wifi
then atleast you can rule out the TV
cant seem to find too much info on this unit

Please test the WiFi with a laptop or netbook, if Internet works with it, maybe you have bad settings into the wireless adapter, you could use the PC wireless connection parameters (SSID, IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS) as reference with the data obtained with the TV wireless adapter, the only difference must be the IP address, the rest must be the same since they're using the same network.

My wifi for my epson nx515 is not working with my laptop.

Obtain the IP address of your printer. Go to Setup > Network Settings > Confirm Settings If it starts with 192, that's good. If it's 169 or 0, do the ff : --- 1. Reset the Network settings. Go to Setup > Restore Default Settings > Network Settings 2. Run the Wireless LAN Setup. Go to Setup > Network Settings > Wireless LAN Setup 3. Make sure you can see your network name or SSID which is provided by the router manufacturer. 4. Enter your network key and enter it as it is (CaSe sensitive). 5. Obtain the IP address. Make sure it starts with 192. 6. Now run the software on your computer and add the printer.

try these steps:

Setting SNMP on the Device SNMP helps monitor the state of the machine and collects information on it. The following items can be set:
<Community Name>: Sets the SNMP community name. You can specify up to two community names. <Writable SNMP>: Enables the computers on the network to access the machine and modify its settings if this item is activated. You can specify this setting for each community separately. <Get Printer Management Information from Host>: Enables automatically the SNMP port monitoring function to obtain printer management information such as information on print applications and printer ports, if you are using Windows Vista and set [Standard TCP/IP port] for the printer driver port. 1. Press (Additional Functions).
Press g0014901.png (Additional Functions). 2. Press [System Settings] 7400rightpointer.jpg [Network Settings] 7400rightpointer.jpg [SNMP Settings].
If the System Manager ID and System Password have been set, enter the System Manager ID and System Password using g0015291.png - g0015292.png (numeric keys), then press g0015353.png (Log In/Out) to enter the System Settings menu. The SNMP Settings screen appears. 3. Select [On] or [Off] for <Use SNMP>.
[On]: When you set or browse each item of the machine with utility that uses SNMP to obtain information. Proceed to step 4. [Off ]: When you do not use an SNMP utility. Skip to step 7. 4. To change Community Name to a name other than <public>, press [Community Name], then enter the community name using the touch panel keyboard.

Dont worry about the disk. Login to router's web interface by typing http://192.168.1.1on the Address bar. Default Username: Admin & Password: password. Check if you have a WAN IP or Internet IP. If it is not obtained. Power cycle your modem which will obtain the WAN IP and you will be online. You can setup the wireless and security it with a WPA/WPA2 passphrase.

I am trying to hook up xbox live for the first time. i have a isp windstream and a speedstream 5200 modem. My connection is good verified by windstream but x box cannont connect to the signal. Winstream...

  1. Step 1 Have your Xbox 360 correctly hooked up to television with HDMI or component cables. Turn your television and Xbox on. Make sure your television is on the correct input. Make sure that your WIndstream DSL Modem is on. If you have a router, make sure that it is on.
  2. Step 2 Obtain the security key for your wireless network, and write this key down. You will need this key to allow the Xbox 360 to have wireless access to the Internet. If you do not know where to find your wireless network key, you will have to access the security setup of your router. The way to do this varies by model, so check your user's manual to see how. If you don't plan on using the Xbox Wireless Adapter for your Xbox, you may skip this step.
  3. Step 3 Run a network cable (Ethernet) from your router or directly from the modem to the Xbox 360. Once you have this cable plugged in you will have to access the "My Xbox" tab on your dashboard. Go to the "System Settings" portion of the tab, usually the last portion on the right, and access network settings. For wired setups, go to the "Configure Network" option and make sure both the "IP Settings" and "DNS Settings" are set to automatic.
For wireless setups, you will need to have the Xbox Wireless Adapter plugged into the Xbox. Under the Network Settings, enter the security key that you obtained earlier to allow access to the Internet and Xbox Live.
  4. Step 4 Create an account on Xbox Live. You will need to either have a credit card or an Xbox Live subscription card. You can purchase Xbox Live cards at your local game retailer. You will be asked to enter information and create a user name called a "Gamer Tag." This is the name that you will be known as in the x-box community hope this help you out

Can connect to all other webpages. EXCEPT my 192.168.1.1 page to see my router password.

There could be a number of reasons this could be happening from being connected to another unsecured wireless router around your location to the default internal IP address of the router being different then the default. If you aren't familiar with setting up your wireless security options, I would recommend calling a professional.

If you want to try to do it yourself the easiest way for you would be to disable your wireless networking card on your computer and then hardware your computer to the router. Once hardwired if you still do not get the login screen when typing 192.168.1.1 into your browser, try rebooting your computer as well as the router. If it still doesn't work, the default internal IP address has probably been changed. In which case you can open a command prompt and type in ipconfig then click enter to get the routers internal IP address. If you aren't sure how to do that go to Start -> Run -> type "cmd" without quotes -> press Enter -> type in black command window "ipconfig" without quotes and you will get router IP address it is the numbers across from where it says "Default Gateway". If you never setup the security options of your wireless router, you might just want to hard reboot your router which will set your router back to the factory default settings. You can do that by holding the reset button on the router for around 30-60 seconds.

Wireless ADSL setup for WIN ME

Hi, I am assuming that you have installed the necessary USB drivers for the LINKSYS Wireless G in your ME machine and that you can ping your router from the same desktop. Based on your post/description "...The connection to the router is there but I can not connect to the internet...." would indicate that your Win ME desktop is not configured to use the wireless router as the default internet gateway. Rather than "Obtain IP add automatically" in your ME, try manually configure and to "Use the following IP address". Follow and use the numbers of your laptop's wifi connection except for the IP add. Simply add 1 to the last digit. For example if your laptop's wifi IP add is 192.168.100, make the ME 192.168.1.101. All the other numbers should be the same (SubNet Mask, Default Gateway, DNS) To be able to get the laptop's numbers, open a command prompt and type "ipconfig /all". It is also possible that security settings (WEP, WPA or MAC filter) are not working right with the ME machine, try turning them off in your router to test. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
