Re: Having difficulty logging on to internet.

Re Router;

Is it properly configured with your DSL modem? Are patch cables porperly wired EA568A or 568B? Is your power to the router good? make sure all connections are solid. Check the cables with lan tester if possible.

How to Hard Reset a Router

On the back or bottom of your router you should find a small pin sized reset button.
  • While your router is plugged in, press and hold your router's reset button for 30 seconds. You may have to use a paperclip or pin to press your router's reset button.

  • You should notice your router's lights flicker and flash. That is an indication that your hard reset is taking effect.

  • After you've held your router's reset button down for 30 full seconds, allow the router to reboot. (Just leave your router alone for a few minutes and allow it to gather itself.)

  • Finally, try logging in to your router once more. Remember that you must now use the default user name and password for your router. If you still are having difficulty logging in to your router, go back to TroubleShooting Step #1 and rinse and repeat.

Hi for months now I am having problems logging into facebook. But occasionally I can access facebook. Why am I having so many problems. I have tried deleting cookies but I am having very little luck

If you are using Internet Explorer, I strongly suggest you to try Mozilla Firefox or Opera. If you have access to any other website that allows you to logging but, not to Facebook that will probably tell you that it is more likely cause by the browser not the Router.

Good luck

I've been using my dad's computer since my is broke and I would like to get yahoo mail without interupting his, how may I do that I have a e-mail address already it's ...

Shannon, generally opening the same website with a login (like Yahoo or Google) multiple times with the same browser is not possible. Usually the website asks if you want to log the first person out and log back in with the 2nd person's username/password.
There are a couple of possible workarounds that you might try that should work.
1) Launch a 2nd instance of the browser. If you use Internet Explorer for example, double click the icon for it again and launch a 2nd instance of it. Then in that 2nd browser try to log into your own yahoo account. That may 'trick' the site into allowing you to log in that way while keeping his mail logged in using the 1st instance of the same browser.
2) Use a 2nd browser. You could also install Google Chrome, Firefox or some other browser on the same computer. Now, first launch Internet Explorer and have him log into his email. Then launch the 2nd browser product and you log into your own email. This usually works as the browser sessions are separate so the websites 'think' they are coming from different computers and allow multiple logins.
Hope this response helps you out.
Best of luck!

Hi Good Day,

1) if you cant log-in to your computer then you have to call your computer support number so that they will be able to reset the computer log-in details.

2) if you cant log-in to your email or to other application, all you have to do is to reset your password.

3) if you cant log-in to your network / internet, try check on where your computer is trying to connect.

try these steps first, if this won't work just send us a question again.

Cant connect to internet

Configuring router for Cable Internet (LINKSYS)

To configure your router for Cable you will need to set your router's WAN (INTERNET) port to 'Dynamic IP' (DHCP) option. The router is set to this option by default.

Configuration Steps:

Step 1
Connect the cable modem to the WAN (INTERNET) port of your router. If the modem has USB connection make sure that it is NOT connected to any computers via the USB cable and that the modem is switched to Ethernet (not USB). Only the modem's Ethernet port should be connected to the router's WAN (INTERNET) port.
Connect your computer(s) to the router's LAN port(s) or establish connection to it wirelessly.

Step 2
Open your Internet Explorer and log into your router by typing in its IP address (in most cases the default IP is ). Note that you do not have to be on the Internet in order to access this address because you are just connecting to your router's address. Specify username and password for your router, default is `admin' for password and username is blank (nothing).

Step 3
After logging into the router select Setup. Set Internet Connection Type to 'Automatic Configuration (DHCP)' option. Under Setup, click on MAC Address Clone tab. Enable it and click on "Clone My PC's MAC". Do this from the computer which the cable modem was directly connected the last time. This will place the MAC address of your computer into the router. Save settings and reboot the router.
Step 4

Click on SAVE SETTINGS and then on REBOOT THE DEVICE including the cable modem to apply the new configuration.

If you are having difficulties accessing the Internet, you need to:

- Log into the router and go to Status page. Note what IP address it is getting on the WAN (INTERNET) interface. If the IP address you see under WAN (INTERNET) appears to be in the same range you are using on your network (e.g. 192.168.1.x), you will need to change the range you are using on your LAN to something different, e.g. You can do this on your router under Setup > Basic Setup. Note that after changing the IP of your router you will only be able to access it through its new IP, e.g.

- Uninstall your antivirus/firewall software (sometimes disabling or closing the software is not enough) and reboot your PC. After establishing the Internet connection through the router, reinstall your antivirus/firewall software.

well resetting the button at the back of the router makes the router go to factory default settings. As such you need to configure the router once again as per your service provider's settings. If you already have the IP informations and the other informations. You can try to log into the router using the default IP of which would take you to the router home page. You can configure the Router and save the same.Once done you should be good to go.
