As a propane guy, I also recommend having your regulator pressure checked. Low pressure will give you smaller and yellower flames. resulting in less heat and to be more precise, less efficient heating.

Check for dirty filters/low air flow will cause it to go off on high limit. It is very important to have good air flow.

On the rating plate of the unit, where the model number and BTU rating is found should be something called recommended temp. rise. It will be a range (30-50 or 25-45, something like that) place a thermometer at the return (room temperature) air and the supply air coming out of the nearest register. The temp. difference between the 2 thermometers should fall in the recommended range. If it is in the range, it may be all its gonna give you. If your unit has a multi speed blower, set it to the LOWEST speed. This gives you maximum temperature rise.

What size fresh air vent do I need in a boiler room with a gas boiler and gas hot water heater with about 220,000 btu combined

I suggest that you run a duct that is 3 inches larger than the furnace duct . and you should run it down close to the floor and aim it in the direction of the furnace. this will trap warm air above the vent and supply an adequate supply of air for combustion. also make sure you have insulated any pipes in the furnace room that carry water or steam you want heat where you live, not going up the chimney.

Atwood 38591 Excalibur xt 1522 LP two stage furnace. Operates on high fan only

Hi Dave. I'm Roger. Its normal for a furnace to shut down completely when the set point on the thermostat is reached. The first and second stages are used when the temp. gets close to set point. The heat output drops to its low stage at around 3 degrees before set point. Check your owners manual for specifics on the fan though.

Atwood 1522 LP furnace fan operates at one speed only

Furnace only works at one speed, high and low fan is usually used for AC. It never has had 2 speeds on furnace correct? Furnaces usually only have 1 speed, except for some home models.

Same problem here. Gas, hot air furnace with A/C. Fan works with heat, but not A/C. Furnace is old, and I had to move the G wire to C at the furnace, plus install a jumper from Y to G.

How do i get even heat thru out the house with a daka wood stove

http://www.hearth.com/talk/categories/main-hearth-forums.4/
You burn wood, and smoke goes up flueway.
You're not running chimney smoke through ductwork so you have a heat exchanger.
What kind of heat exchanger?
probably air since you're running through ductwork?
How much hot air or hot water is coming off heat exchanger?
How big of a space can be heated with that amount of heat?
Is the exchanger located in optimal location?

Considerations.
One room log cabin with fireplace will not stay very warm.
One room house with big wood burning stove in center, with hot flue pipe running across the room and exiting on far wall, will get warm-hot, but will cool off fast.
Why?
Because the BTU output of firewood is much less than electric, coal, oil, or gas.
Otherwise they would have made wood-burning steam locomotives. But the locomotive boiler cannot get hot enough with wood ... the boiler needs coal to produce enough BTUs to boil water fast enough to rotate the turbine and turn the wheels.

Maybe your wood stove output should be measured.
Don't forget a huge percentage of fire heat goes straight up flueway.

Home heating issue! hot air is cold when it reaches top floor!

Just guessing, but I'll bet your 2nd floor duct work is in the attic, and uninsulated, wrapping all attic mounted duct work with R-13 insulation and sealing it with tape will help but there is still going to be a slug of cold air pumped into the upstairs rooms each time the furnace cycles.
