If fuse should blow up; certainly there will be a reason. A shorct circuit; an over voltage [Line] etc: Without make confirm about the reason, and rectifying it, do not replace an other fuse in place; and switch ON the set. It might make things more complicate. Contact any service technician. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

SOURCE: Main fuse blown on CT-32G11 32" Panasonic TV, Replacement fuses continue to blow.

If the main fuse keeps blowing, check the horizontal output transistor for a shorted condition and diodes in that section as well.

Good Morning, Everyone!!!! I have an NEC CT 2020 A TV that recently went out due to a power surge. Is it better to replace the fuse on this model or buy a new tv alltogether????

Hello,

The power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

I hope this will helpout in solving the problem...

Keeps blowing fuse

It has a short circuit somewhere...
Not sure if this is a CRT, LCD or Plasma TV but the two common causes of shorts for CRT's are the Horizontal Output Transistor (HOT) and/or the Flyback Transformer (Could be both). As a general rule if the flyback has visible cracks in the case they should be replaced. It is also a good idea to replace the HOT if you're replacing the flyback as it could be weakened and may not last much longer itself.
Other areas to check for all types would be any Diodes in the Power Supply Circuit. If a diode is open it can cause the fuse to blow. Note that a diode itself will not short, but an open diode can cause a fuse to blow.

Tv will not turn on

This set has a common problem with th main fuse opening for no other apparent reason... One of the few exceptions to my corner-stone statement that a fuse is never the cause only a symptom..
Don't replace it though with the same type grade, use a 6.3a slo-blow gma type - available at Radio Shack... Try that and if everything works you're back in business.. If not we nee to find a cause...

CT-32HL42 Panasonic will not turn on

These sets have a number of problems like yours which are associated with bad solder connections or cold solder joints. On this set one pin on the the start-up relay is usually open or intermittent The solution is to resolder connections on main p.c board. and especially on the vertical output IC. Also change the caps in the vertical section to avoid future problems. Scrivitron.
