Question about Audio Players & Recorders
I run windows fix audio controllers problems and couldn"t.
Do you know the motherboard model? If not, go to http://www.belarc.com and get the free Belarc advisor. It will identify your motherboard and some other components. From there, you can go to the manufacturers website for the driver. If the driver is the same one you have and it doesn't fix it, then try the intel site for a download: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ and click the update drivers button. If still no joy, try the system file checker, sfc.exe. This might not work depending on which version of windows you're running, but here's how I do it:
from the start menu, choose run, type in sfc /scannow <enter>. If it says you need administrator priveleges, then try try finding sfc.exe with the file explorer and right click and it should display a context menu that has an entry run as administrator. If that doesn't work, try a windows repair. That varies with each version, and your hardware if windows was preinstalled. Do a search for windows repair + windows (version 8,7 or whatever you are running. If that doesn'tdo it, then reply with as much info as possible, including what you have tried.

Go into control panel, then go to device manager and see Audio devices. Check to see if your Realtek is listed as your default audio device. If it isn't you have to add hardware and add the audio device using your setup disk that should of came with the computer. If the audio device is set up and working in device manager then check your cable from the mother board to the jack on the audio out that is mounted on the mother board. Finally if non of that works see if you can borrow a set of speakers to try to see if they work with your setup.
