Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
Cover is closed and a new toners is put in
The sensor that detects the closed cover is damaged or not functioning. As you do not state what printer you have I cannot tell you an exact fix. Typically there is a plastic tab on the cover that engages a sensor when closed.

Have you tried to unplug your printer and plug it back in, that will force the printer to re-check all its settings and it should notice that the toner is now full.

Power off the machine. Then remove the toner bottle be careful the hole might be on the bottom toner is going to everywhere. Then close the toner cover and turn on the machine. Let the machine go through it normal routine. When it asks for toner install the toner correctly. If THE KUNB on the side of the bottle is damage put a new one in that KUNB is what the toner motor uses to turn the bottle if it damage you get a code. If that does not work you might have a bad motor or the home sensor or actuator for the toner bottle is bad worse case the control board is bad. Reset open close front door WHAT MODEL IS THIS MACHINE?
