Singer 4423 how to sew a bar tack on denim?

Just set the stitch width selector to the width you want the bar tack and set the stitch length to zero. It will stitch in place until you stop or change the stitch settings.

Manual backtack lever works but electronic servo backtack only engages when machine is at rest with needle in up position.

hello there
at normal case needle bar must be in upper position because DDL-8700/7 does not equipped with needle feed. for your problem please check back tack solenoid open and close when you make back tack ( sometimes it was jammed and need to move by hand ).

Juki Bar Tack Machine Cutter not working

I can't help. But I would recommend calling your local Juki Dealer for the name of a good repairman. Juki's are expensive you don't want to be futzing about if you aren't an expert.

I can't find my manual and I need to know how to do button holes

You could try to locate a manual on the web or try sewing.about.com, there is lots of information on this website.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with this model machine at all.

But if it is an automatic buttonholer model, there is probably a special buttonhole foot in your accessory box? Is it a long white plastic device where you put a button in the back to get the correct lenth. If yes, then put it on the machine and there will also be a lever at the left side of the presser foot that you need to pull down. This buttonhole style sews the bar tack, then one side, the end tack, then the other side and works backwards from the starting point.

Now check your machine dial settings, there is probably a buttonhole icon?

You might be able to muddle through this way?

Buttonhole making instructions from the manual of the Singer Simple do not seem to be accurate. The tension is incorrect and the machine is only sewing down one side without creating the satin stitch/...

Some machines will start out by sewing a straight stitch all the way around the buttonhole area first and then will zigzag/satin stitch along the sides. Bar tacks will be the last stitches sewn - hope this helps!

EP 382 My user manual buttonhole instructions don't match my machine. The instructions talk about turning the dial to ABC but on the dial I have buttonhole markings. On the dial there are 3 clicks for the...

Yes, you are right. To make out what is wrong place a plain cloth under the foot and try these 3 ABC positions as well as other positions and see what type of stitch you get in each position.
I don't claim this to be a solution to the problem. But it should help you solve it.

Auto buttonholer problem singer 2662

You do need to adjust your stitch length to get the satin stitch look. Also, some of the auto buttonholers require you to reset the lever after each buttonhole to restart it.

Button holer

Refer to step 5 in the instruction book. Turn the stich selector to the reverse arrow and back to the buttonhole symbol. This re-sets the machine.
