Question about Maytag Washing Machines

1 Answer

My front loading Neptune model mah3300 quit spinning. When I opened it up I found the drive belt laying on the bottom of the cabinet along with quite a bit of dirty water.

I put the belt back on the pulleys. After less than one revolution of the large pulley the belt would slide off center and rub against the plastic outer tub. Any ideas why the belt will no longer ride in the center of the pulley?

The drum bearings and seal ar shot

replace them the belt and thats that

open the machines front and check for drum play if it moves up and down and side to side then the drum seal went and then the bearings rotted in the last few months ive seen branded generic machines with bearing and seal faults caused by bad seals and not oiled at fit bad rubber quality etc
sometimes you need to look for a 'maker' that makes it instead of a factory that prints them out and brands per order of so many of the same machine
half baked and full of software and hardware flawes

i see more and more of this multibrand madness,.. and poor east quality control???

dont pass with me for sure

My daughter washed a horse blanket and afterwards, my washer doesn't spin, the clothes get wet and lay there. Could she have snapped a belt or thrown the drum off track with the weight of the horse...

Yes , it is quite possible that a load exceeding the limit of the washer can damage the belt or the drive of the washer and so it is important that a first hand observation is most important before we can speculate on the issue.
Please remove power and check manually on the motor and drive, now connect and with precaution check the drive , if there is power on motor or if there is a failure from the program controller unit.

How can I replace the pump belt of a washing machine Sears Kenmore model #110.82671710 stock #26717

The Kenmore top load washing with the given model number 110.82671710 is a direct-drive type and doesn't have a pump belt. The pump is directly coupled to the rear spline of the motor.

The cabinet needs to be removed if access to the drain pump and replacement is necessary. Remove the screws attaching the bottom front corner of the console to the top of the cabinet then pull forward and up on the console and lay it back on the hinges.

Disconnect the lid switch harness connector by pressing on the tab located in the middle and pulling it up.

The cabinet is attached to the rear of the washer by two brass-colored retaining clips. Insert a flat blade screwdriver into the turned-up edge of the clip, located on both sides, and then pry back to release the clip from the slot in the cabinet.
jahn27_52.jpg

Open and hold the lid while grabbing the cabinet front opening then tilt the top of the cabinet toward you by pulling the cabinet away from the base. This releases the front and back slots of the cabinet from the tabs in the front and back of the base. Using the side of your leg and/or body as a support for the front of the cabinet, carefully lift up and set the cabinet aside.

With the cabinet removed, pry the clips securing the pump to the motor off and remove the pump.

Detach the hoses from the drain pump and attach it to the new one then install it back into the rear spline of the motor and secure it with the retaining clips. Bring the cabinet to the front of the washer then slide the front bottom rail of the cabinet under the rail at the base of the machine then lay down the cabinet into position. Make sure the slots in the cabinet sit into the tabs at the base of machine.

Reconnect the lid switch harness then push the retaining clips back down into position to secure the cabinet to the rear of the machine. Reinstall and secure the console to complete the repair.

Our Kenmore washer (23812) stops working at the spin cycle, and the water will not drain out of the machine. Help!

This is a clear evidence of a broken lid switch. Power to the drive motor is routed through the lid switch during the drain/spin cycle. The machine, therefore, cannot drain and spin when the lid switch is not working. The drain pump doesn't work because it is directly coupled to the rear spline of the motor. Replace the lid switch to address the problem.

Release the console from the top of the cabinet depending on the model of your machine then pull forward and up on the console and lay it back on the hinges.

Maytag Neptune Front Load Washer Model MAH4000AWW low last spin

two problems here,
your shaft seal is running on its last leg
the sound is unmistakeable and always described the same...
the water issue, you probably have a trickle leak through the cold water valve
the mixing valve is quite an easy repair, but I would have to say with all honesty, it probably time for a new machine
the hub seal is a tub replacment call
2 hrs of labor if hes good
and the tub runs around 500.00 dollars
sory for the bad news

Model #431423 front load washer will only spin on one cycle

If it has a Mallory/Sole motor speed control module located on the bottom right rear area of the cabinet, chances are THIS is the problem. They never completely quit working, just certain functions end up not working anymore---like yours. Various suppliers exist for this part ranging from $90-$150. Surf the net to find the best deal. Use your Sears model number on the search. I got mine for $82. Sears wanted $144.

How can I open back panel on Kenmore Ultra Fabric Washer

On this design, the front would be the area you would need to remove. Start by unplugging the machine. On the console, you will see 2 screws on either side of the front of the console. Remove these 2 screws with a phillips screwdriver. After you do this, grasp the console on either side, gently pull the front bottom out, then when it releases, flip the console up, and swing it back over the rear of the unit. On either side of the top, you will see a gold latch. Put a regular screwdriver in the groove along the front of these latches, down in the hole in the top, and pop it out. Do this to the other side as well. Grab the cabinet, and gently swing the top back towards you until the bottom slides out. Then set the cabinet aside. On this model, there are no belts. The drive system is made up of a motor, a drive coupler, and transmission. The drive coupler is between the transmission and motor. Sounds like you may have a problem with the basket drive system, which is located between the transmission and outer tub. This can be replaced, but will take a special spanner nut wrench to remove the inner basket and drive block. Let me know if this helps you out some or need me to break it down a little more for you. Good Luck!!! Jimster

ladymaid, nf is the error for no fill. There could be a bunch or reasons for this but because you just moved I'm suspecting that a harness came loose on the control board or the motor control. First of all, and Im sure you did, make sure both water valves are on to the machine. If you are sure of that, press the delicates and heavy soil keys together for 3 seconds. Now you are in the service mode. In this mode press wrinkle free key, cold water should start entering. Press the cotton sturdy and hot water should flow. To exit the test mode, either unplug the machine or press the delicates and heavy soil again for 3 seconds. If the washer still does not fill, some complicated test will have to be run. Let me know, Catriver.
