Dear Mal, Which part of the recoil system is breaking, the pulley, the spring or the pawls? If it is the Pulley, there is a possibility that the cord is too thin and is overlapping/jamming in the pulley and then it splits the pulley. If it is the spring, it could be because you have over-tensioned the spring or that the cord is too long (once again because the diameter/thickness of the cord is too thin so it fits more times around the pulley) and when you pull the cord right out, it tightens the spring up so much, that it jams and either the end breaks off or the spring jumps out of its location. Let me know if any of those situations apply (or not) and we can get around to sorting it out.

im not so sure this will help you, except to laugh , let me just say this i hope not, but this one reminded me of one a guy brought to me one day he said it wouldnt start , when i tried to pull it over , it woulnt budge not an inch , after carefull exam of pull rope , i saw the cord had broken and this guy in a fit of frustration used his daughters jump rope to replace it , thats not gonna work , this guy had over six feet of pink jump rope jammed inside this thing , i dont know how he fit it inside but there it was pink and all , i replaced the cord for him (not pink) but did offer to repaint the case pink , he said great maybe i could get my wife to run it then !! long story short maybe the cord reel inside is rubbing on something like a loose bolt or screw they do come loose lots of times ya know

Pull cord not grabbing

The Dogs inside the Recoil are worn or Dirty is my first idea. But it could also be a loose Recoil also (This happened to me and my Ski Doo XP.

I purchased a new Recoil just to find out that 3 of the bolts were missing. Got new bolts and tightened it up and returned the Recoil. Ski Doo's Recoil Rebuild Kits do not last very long.

Could be an issues with your adapter. What resolution are you trying to send to the projector? Try lowering your resolution.

Also, are the proper video drivers loaded on your machine?

4 wire cord for Maytag lde 410

There is usually a metal strap or a wire from the enter terminal to the dryer cabinet. Remove and discard that. Attach the green (ground) wire the the cabinet. White (neutral) to the center terminal, and red to one of the other terminals and black to the other. (both are "hot" wires)

Lots of noise when laptop power cord is plugged in

You must be running on pc, or it sounds like you may have a ground loop issue. If you are running a mac, then bus power over the firewire should be enough. If your running on a pc, try getting a pcmcia card with 6 pin firewire ports. If not then your pc laptop will have to power the 410 via ac adapter. That means both should be plugged in tot he wall. Ive gotten that interference before, and gett it on any audio, whether im producing or playing itunes. I find the trick is to reset the 410 via the output window in the top right. It's right above the level knob. Also, try just installing the latest driver, with the 410 disconnected, then launch it from a different file path than the icon.

I still use it for the macbook pro, and its not always top notch. I bought it 3 years ago for 500, and i see what 500 buys nowadays.......MOTU!!!!

Keep me posted.
