If it is a dual band router make sure it is still transmitting on 2.4htz as this is what most older tablets work on.then scan your networks , when it finds you network don't join but click far right arrow.what you need to do is forget the network because this will clear all previously stored passwords for that network that are kept on the device.then rescan , this time when you click join you can put in the latest password and it should be fine.

Does your router automatically set the ip addresses for each computer, or do you have to set them up yourself? Is the computer that can connect the one that is directly connected to the modem? if it does and you asked windows to repair the connection it probably is messed up. check in the router settings to see if your pc's are on the same ip address route (e.g 192.168.x.x), but not all the same last digit; and the subnet masks are all the same (eg

First make sure that you have a valid connection to the router and that you have a valid IP address.

(note: for a wired connection you should have a link light on the numbered port of the router to which your computer is connected. You should have an IP address in the range 192.168.2.x. This sounds like you need to set up your main gateway or WAN port settings on the datatone to match what your ISP provides? Is it possible to get suggested settings from the ISP?

The connection in the router is there but we cannot use it. what we are going to do

Perform a full reset of the router. With the power plugged in, press the reset button for 30 seconds; keep the reset button pressed and pull the power plug out for 30 seconds; keep the reset button pressed and plug the power back in. The unit will reset to the factory settings.

User the software and instructions that came with your router, or download them from the Linksys website, and log onto the router and use the setup program to finish the setup.

Dell n4010 wont connect to internet

Check ALL cables and reseat, try a Ethernet cable connected directly to the ISP modem. If you can connect with a cable, reboot the Wireless device. If no, contact your ISP to verify a signal, it may be a outside equipment issue. Unplug everything remove batteries when applicable, start at the ISP modem, allow the self test with the modem and wireless device. Reboot the laptop, Is your SSID in the Available Wireless Networks?

My att 2wire modem resets itself when i connect to the network. All the lights are fine and everything is normal until i connect to the network through wifi or ethernet. Once i do that, the system lights...

Welcome to FixYa! You maybe experiencing problem with the modem itself. The only way you can fix the problem is by resetting the modem. Once done, and the modem is is still acting the same way, you will need to replaced the modem. Please follow the steps below to reset the modem.

Note: Once you reset the modem, all the username and password that you or your ISP configured will automatically be deleted and goes back to default settings.

1. While the modem is on, press and hold the reset button at the back of the modem for at least 30 seconds. The reset button is like a red hole near the DC port. you can try to use a pen or a pin to press the reset button.

2. You can verify if the modem is already resetting if all the light are turning yellow or amber.

3. After 30 seconds, power down or turn off the modem for 30 seconds again then turn it back on.

4. If your ISP configure the modem with a username and password, you will need to contact them for reconfiguration.

5. Once the configuration is already done, monitor the modem if it will do the same thing.

I hope this information will help. Thank you for using FixYa.

Weird disconnection problem

How long have you had your modem? If your modem is old it could be as simple as getting a new one. Or it can be the isp faught. I would talk to your neighbors if you know anybody that has the same isp to see if they have trouble or not.

Won't connect to internet, says local access only, internet provider says everything is alright on their end, need to talk to acer. Been working fine and just quit.

Disconnect your modem/router for 5min then try agian.

If this don't fix it, try locating other wifi (your using wifi right?) hotspots. If you can connect then its your settings on your notebook (since you said its not your ISP.

Delete your internet connection and manually redo it. It could just be some internet settings that were changed.

Need more info on what interenet type your using.
