Question about Nortel Norstar T7316e Phone

Resetting Admin The admin has once again been locked. Feature 985 doesnt work i press 9 and nothing happens i dont get the password option unless i prompt it by pressing 7 first. Feature 983 also doesnt work - i am seriously out of ideas and needing help urgently. I found the answer before somewhere and now cant find it again. PLEASE HELP ME

Try using FEATURE **2223772 2223772#. This is the access server admin. There might be a path there to reset passwords. On the MICS side use FEATURE **266344 266344# to access the system programming and password reset features. Press Feature 985 - press 9 even when not listed in options. At the password prompt enter 73738767793 and answer the reset password prompt with yes. This will reset the password to default.

Have you tried feature 985, and then press 9, and enter the passed resetsmppwd? That should reset the login on feature 983 to 1020000 for three digit extensions, or 102000 for two digit extensions. Once you get into there, you can reset the mailbox password for the general delivery mailbox. Depending on your system, even though the general delivery mailbox might be on extension 363, the mailbox number is likely to be 100.

Norstar m7310 reset admin password


When you do F985 it will show the DN of vmail, then you press 9.

Maybe you have a BCM and not a Norstar, same phones work on both.
In this case call a tech in.

Our Feature 983 Admin password was changed by mistake and doesn't work anymore and I tried the default one of 1020000 and it will not work either. How do I reset this password?


To reset the administrator pasword enter feature 985 press 9, at the password prompt enter 73738767793 (resetsmpwsd) and press ok or #,press yes to reset password. password should be defaulted to 0000. then try Feature 983. if your system has 2 digit intercom #s your password is 120000. 1020000 if you have 3 digit intercom numbers. Once that's done you can go into admin programming to default your password back to 0000.

I am locked out of my admin mailbox on my nortel nt8b26aabl phone, when i use feature 983 and then password 102000, it says invalid password.???

Feature 983 is system admin

1. Log into system administration
To Reset a Mailbox Password:
1. Log into system administration
2. Select the softkey under “MBOX”
3. Select the softkey under “Chng”
4. Enter the mailbox number you want to reset the password for
5. The display shows “Reset Password”
6. Select the softkey under “RESET”
7. Press the release key
*The new password will be “0000′, the system will ask the user to change

How to Change a Mailbox Password
1. To access the voice mail system press "Feature".
2. Press "983".
3. When you see "Log:" enter "120000" for 2 digit extension numbers.
4. Press "OK".
5. Press "MBOX".
6. Press "CHNG".
7. Enter the mailbox number you wish to reset.
8. Press "Reset".
9. Press "Rls" to exit (orange button to the right of the number buttons).
Default password is "0000".

Here are a couple things to check...

Press Feature * 0 and then press you intercom button - This will identify the extension # of the phone you are using/ This will also identify any button on the phone

assumming your extension is 3 digits;
enter Feature 983 and at the log prompt enter 1020000 then press ok. This is 102 for the mb and 0000 for the password. If you get successfully logged in you can choose mbox then change and then enter your mb # . The first thing you will see is PASSWORD with RESET under password. Press the softkey under reset to rest the password to 0000. Now try to log back into your mb using 0000 as the password.

If you can't get into the admin mb with 1020000 then do this to reset the password for the admin mb..
