Main board is likely the issue or worst case is a defective main screen called a display panel. Voltage checks will not usually help with this type of problem since it will likely have to be traced with a scope.
3-5 years is average life on this type of set and Philips is known for parts at that age becoming unavailable............

Check its backlight inverter board, and CCFL lamps. In most cased, the back-light inverter board might need replacement. Check all the CCFL lamps too for any black edges.
