Built in battery is dead and will need to be replaced. Depending on what camera you have you might be able to do it yourself.

SOURCE: Camera turns on for a few seconds, then off.

A light rap with a knuckle when powering up fixed the problem, at least temporarily. Lens extended, camera works fine. Not exactly a technical fix, but it worked for me.

Will NOT turn on when sd media card is inserted

look through the SD slot, all pins should in position and clean, if something looks wrong, try to clean or adjust the pin with philips #000 screw drive or similar size tools
if everything looks just fine, try to put another SD card.
if nothing works to you, through it to trash or sell on ebay.

My camera has not been able to turn on since i bought it

It could be that the battery has not fully charged. Do you have a stand-alone charger or are you using the USB port of your computer to charge it? A stand-alone is usually quicker but allow 2-3 hours if charging from the USB/Computer. Then disconnect and plug back into the computer. If it is not "recognized" by the Operating System (i.e., places a new drive letter on the "My Computer" screen), it is probably defective. Return to vendor if still under warranty. Another thought: Make sure you have a formatted SD card inserted into it. Most of these type spy cameras will not turn on (or only stay on 30-45 seconds) if no media card is present.

FUJIFILM A170 Digital Camera will not take photo

check to be certain the battery is holding a charge, is inserted correctly, make sure the SD card is inserted correctly, IF it is holding charge and card is in correctly is the card full? if so empty it. if you have a SD card slot in the computer see if there are photos on the card if you dont have one in your computer and the camera hooks to the computer DONT DO IT! take the card to walmart, walgreens or somewhere they can see if something is on the card. we are trying to see if its a battery problem a card problem or a Camera problem. if the card is good and has no photos then put it in the camera and asuming the menus come up then format the card. try taking photos if this works great if not see if a friend will barrow their card to you to try in your camera make sure again that their card is BLANK otherwise if you have a bad camera it can blank their card too and you are SOL. try online and search for the model and see if you come up with others that have the same problem. read the manual and if you dont have it do a manual search for the camera model.

BATTERY DOES NOT CHARGE Received a "Vivitar T328" camera yesterday. Inserted the supplied battery and a new memory card into the camera and connected the camera via "USB" cable to the supplied charger....

How old is the battery? If the battery is refurbished or old it might just not charge anymore.

Also, do you have a separate charger for the battery? Many cameras do and that is how they charge, not when the battery is still in the camera.

TomTom One series 30 won't reset

It sounds like you have lost the operating system or the flash memory card has gone bad. Make sure your unit is fully charged and try again. Then connect your device to your computer. If it comes up in my computer right click the drive and check properties to see how much space is availiable on the drive. If it says 0 the flash has gone bad, I have a 20 series tt that this happened to. My solution was to insert a sd card (at least 2 gb.) into the sd card slot found under the sticker no sd card requaired on the bottom of the tt. TT home then installed the operating system but the downside is if you have not made a backup od your tt you will have to buy new maps (not cheap).
Hope this helps

Please check the following things when the camera does not turn on.

Possible causes and how to handle them

1. The camera is not on

Turn on the camera. (Operation procedure varies between camera models. Please refer to the camera user guide supplied with your camera.)

2. The rechargeable battery is not fully charged.

Make sure the rechargeable battery is fully charged. If the battery has not been used for an extended period of time, or if it is being used for the first time, it may not be fully charged. In cases like this, fully charge the battery and then discharge it completely in the camera several times to bring the battery back to its normal performance.

The rechargeable battery's capacity diminishes the longer the battery is used. When the battery consumption becomes quicker, the battery life may be at its end. Replace the battery with a new one.

3. The battery terminals are dirty.

When camera does not operate with a brand-new alkaline battery (for cameras that use AA-size batteries) or with a fully charged rechargeable battery, the terminals may be dirty.
Polish the terminals with a dry cloth and make sure the terminals are clean. If the terminals are covered with oil from your skin or similar matter, this may cause poor contact and power may not be fully supplied to the camera.

Also, polish the battery charger terminals with a dry cloth before charging the battery. If the terminals are covered with oil from your skin or similar matter, this may cause poor contact and the battery may not be fully charged.

4. The batteries are not installed correctly (for cameras that use AA-size batteries)

For cameras that use AA-size batteries, multiple batteries are used in one camera. Make sure the direction of each battery matches the direction indicated on the camera. If any of the batteries are improperly inserted, the camera will not operate.

5. The battery cover or CF card (SD card) slot cover is not securely closed

Most cameras have a lock mechanism on the battery cover. The camera will not turn on if the battery cover is not locked or securely closed, or if the CF card (SD card) slot cover is not securely closed. Make sure these covers are securely closed.

If your camera does not operate after checking each of these things, or if there is any visible damage on your camera that could be the cause, please contact the nearest Service Center.

Make sure your SD card is really snugly inserted to the device. Also check your SD card compatibility list on the manual. Some SD cards have issues with electronic devices.

If the card is read on your computer, try reformatting it..
