SOURCE: Power Door Improperly Closing

Try cleaaning the door contact plate and contacts. I used light steel wool and alchol. If this doesn't work the door contacts may need to be replaced.

Check the alignment of the cleat. Make sure the cleat is straight in the pedal when your foot is going through the pedal stroke. You may be turning you foot allowing the pedal to unclip.

Maybe, you can diag yourself with a test light and an ohmmeter. These will cost less at sears than having a dealer diag it. Check fuse 109 in the cab, that's the fuse for the driver's seat module. If that fuse is ok, then check power at the module. It's a little black box under the driver's seat with i think 3 connectors. Back probe the dark green wire at the connector with a test light, you should have power, even with the key off. If not, repair the circuit. Clamp the test light to battery positive and back probe the black wire, if the light does not light, repair that ground circuit. Test the memory set switch by measuring with an ohmmeter points 7 and 2, 7 and 6, 7 and 5 resistance should be less than 5 ohms, if not replace it. If all these tests pass, disconnect the connectors from the module and give 12v to the red and white wire. If the seat moves, have the module replaced at the dealer, it will have to be programmed.

I manually adjusted my brake pedal on a 2004 expedition. After testing the brake lights would not go out. I replaced the brake switch and now the brake lights will not come on. What do you think?


it appears that your adjustment of the brake pedal is the problem
if you adjusted it down , of course the lights will stay on
if you did not adjust the brake switch position correctly on replacing the switch of course the lights will not come on
the brake pedal should have about 1" movement before the brake rod pushes on the m/cyl piston or booster rod
you have to adjust the switch position to operate in the free play distance

I have a 1998 chevy c1500 and all three of my brake lights stay on and i have already replaced the switch with a new one


Most brake light switches have a small nib or piston/pushrod which is depressed by the pedal when the pedal returns. Many pedals are fitted with a metal plate and sometimes a plastic bung, which connects with the brake switch's pushrod. If this pushrod isn't being pushed in when the pedal returns, then the brakes are going to stay on. Check this operation carefully and please report.

What is the correct idle adjustment on a yamaha rt 100 dirtbike


Hi, Anonymous the carburetor throttle shaft wheel has two cables the cable closest to the right side of the bike is the throttle cable and the one closest to the left side is the idle cable. Right about the middle between the two is the idle adjustment bolt it faces out towards the air filter end of the carb. The engine should be at operating temperature with the enrichener off to set the idle between 950-1050 rpm. Turn the idle adjustment bolt clockwise to increases idle speed and counterclockwise to decrease idle speed. If you have access to your air fuel mixture bolt you may adjust it as well if not there is a video below on how to gain access, make sure you start with clean or new spark plugs. Gently turn the air fuel mixture bolt clockwise until it starts to bottom out "STOP" do not over tighten as it will damage the taper on the end, now back it out 2 full turns to establish a starting point start the engine and check the idle rpm's and adjust the idle adjustment bolt accordingly for 950-1050 rpm if necessary, adjust the air fuel mixture bolt 1/4 turn at a time and let the engine settle for about 10 seconds, clockwise for a leaner mixture and counterclockwise for a richer mixture you are seeking the highest rpm your air fuel mixture bolt can acquire without going past 3 full turns from bottom then readjusting the idle adjustment bolt back down to 950-1050 rpm If you can not detect any rpm change and can not stall the engine by turning the air-fuel mixture bolt all the way in then your pilot/low-speed jet is too big. Final adjustment should be made with a clean air filter mounted to the carburetor. Hi Shane, Look down at the side of the lever and you should see the adjustment cable ends. There is a lock nut which must be loosened first and then carry out your adjustment. There is also an adjustment inside the disc drum assembly. To get to that one, you'll need to remove the rear wheels and the caliper. Before jacking the vehicle make sure to jack the front wheels so that the vehicle can't roll. Remember to release the park brake after loosening the wheel nuts. When lifting off the calipers use something to tie them up suspended so that the flexible brake pipe is not under tension. Pull off the disc drum and at the top of the assembly there is an adjuster. Carry out the required adjustment and reassemble. keep in mind that if the brake pads get in the way when assembling, push them back so that the piston retracts into the cylinder. Once you've completed the work get into the car and pump the brake pedal until it feels normal. Happy driving. regards John

Need to adjust the low beams on my '02 Hyundai


Headlight adjustment is fairly straight forward, you will need to park the car on a level surface with a fence or wall 25 feet away and a reference point for measurements to the right or left of the car. First measure from the reference point to the center line of the car then transfer that to the wall, second, measure from the center of the car to the center of the headlights and transfer those to the wall, third, measure from the ground to the center of the headlights and transfer that to the wall. Once all of the reference points have been transferred, adjust the left (driver's side) headlight so that the most intense part of the beam is 2 inches below and 2 inches to the right of the left mark, the right (passenger side) headlight should be adjusted so that it will be 2 inches below and 1 inch to the left of the mark. If done correctly, you will have very good night vision without blinding oncoming traffic.

P.S. Please note that any heavy objects in the car will be a factor in correct headlight adjustment, have the car loaded as it will be normally used.

Brake light stays on with beeping sound


Check & replace if necessary the brake pedal switch placed above pedals on the support.

The brake pedal switch on a 2001 VW Beetle is placed above pedals on the support.

1. Remove the cover panel above the driver's side foot well...

2. Locate old switch, push in brake pedal, and twist switch body to remove...

3. Unplug 4 pin connector from old switch and plug into new switch (it only goes one way...don't force it!). Insert new switch into frame and depress brake petal. You should turn it until it locks into place and is positioned like the original.

4. Start Bug. Press the brake pedal once or twice and the EPC light should go out ...

5. If it looks like that... great! Replace the cover over the foot well and you are done! If not, check the 4 pin connection and make sure it is fully seated in the switch. Also check to see if you can hear the switch engage when you press the brake pedal ... if not, you will need to remove the switch and adjust the push rod. The rod will move in and out for adjustment. Check to see if the brake lights come on when you press the brake pedal as well!

I changed about everything,cylinders calipers,shoes,pads,and new rotors. then after following correct bleeding proceedures still no pedal.oh, and no e- brake either .what the heck am i doing wrong?(1991...


If you have no e brake that tells me your problem is something to do w/rear brakes. Pull your re brakes back apart and make sure everything is seated properly. Sounds like you didn't adjust rear shoes out far enough. Double check rear adjustment THEN bleed again - rt rear -> lft rear ->rt frt -> lft frt.

pull up clutch pedal, all the way up. now fill fluid to top, now open the slave cylinder, it should bleed just with gravity. let it drip for a few minutes or until you have to fill it up 2 times. Make sure that when the pedal is all the way up, that the piston is all the way back on the master cylinder. look up at the back of the master cylinder under the dashl. there is an adjustment. you want just very little play between the pedal rod and the piston, just enough that there is some play. but you need some play there. if there isnt any play, adjust the rod.
