Question about Canon PIXMA MP510 All-In-One InkJet Printer
The MP510 seems not to recognising cartridges...firstly the cyan in my new printer couldn't be recognised unless loosened & then replaced. This happened several times until it refused to be recognised at all. So we bought a new cyan cartridge, which has worked fine for 2 weeks...BUT now the yellow can't be recognised. What's happening?
If one cartridge can't be recognised the whole machine wont work, which is very inconvenient when we mainly need only black for documents!
I have only ever bought (vey expensive) Canon cartridges, and now my MP510 is useless as the brand new black cartridge isn't recognised. I shall also keep away from Canon products in future, back to boring reliable LexMark for me.

I have the same problem as all of you, so do you have to buy original canon inks for your printer to work then, or is it usless now!

Using replacement cartridges that come without a chip seems to be the problem I had with the Canon Pixma 510 printer they are cheaper
but if they do not show the ink levels then its inconvienent so I have but Canon products with a chip and they work perfectly.
