Nothing yet. Have a feeling it needs new bearing. Maybe use it for target practice next.

My washer makes a LOUD noise when spinning, has done this since new but is getting ubearable. my washer is about 4 years old.

The problem here is with the rear tub bearing. Unfortunately the bearing is not sold separately. So the rear half of the tub will have to be replaced.

any further questions lease feel free to ask.

My whirlpool duet makes an awful banging noise when a load of laundry is in the spin cycle. It is completely level and I cannot figure it out.

reach inside drum that turns and try to move it up and down. If there is any movement the spider at the rear of the drum is broken. Will need inner drum and outer rear tub with bearing and seal.

Made a loud noise and drum stopped moving

the tub seal lets go water will weep into the tub bearing. This will rust the basket shaft and normally wreck the tub bearing. Once the bearings starts to get worn enough it usually gets very noisy. The tub bearing is pressed onto the outer back half of the tub shell assembly. Normally need to replace the inner basket/shaft assembly and the outer shell with the tub bearing.
Sometimes the inner basket support will crack, this can give an clicking or banging noise as well.

Pictures of this job...
A sure indication was the brown junk/gookus leaking out if the rear bearing area and the belt has spewed it around in the drum that the rear bearing and seal was bad...

The whole outer shell and basket come out to do this repair....what bad bearing and rusted shaft looked like...
Picture1 - Picture2 - Picture3
I had to remove the back panel. Undo the pump hose & water level hose, remove the 2 shocks, remove the motor, undo the front boot from the outer panel and remove the 2 springs to lift the whole assembly out from the back to work on it.

The inner tub is out of balance and rubbing against the outer tub

The rear bearing is part of the back half of the outer tub. In some cases the basket will need replaced also if the shaft is scored. This is a big job. In most cases whirlpool will warranty the parts for 10 years but not the labor. Will need to check in your owners manual. Hope this helps

Whirlpool Duet Sport Washer Banging During Spin Cycle

If the the drum feels loose in any way, there are three possible reasons:
1. The pulley nut has come loose. (easily repairable from the rear)
2. The bearing is bad (part of the rear tub).
3. The spinner has come loose from the basket (what you describe)

In cases 2 and 3, the entire drum/tub assembly will have to be removed, disassembled and repaired/replaced.

Check your owners manual for possible limited warranty. Contact Whirlpool for potential warranty repair concessions for case 3 if not covered under limited warranty.
