Try removing power for a few minutes and when power is applied again the unit should reset.

Bah, electronic controls! F3 means the control can't read the oven temp sensor. Time to break out the multimeter. Oven temp sensor should read 1100 ohms at room temperature. Easy to check and or change.

If the thing reads good at its connector, try reseating it by plugging and unplugging a few times to break up corrosion.

If the oven still complains after you've verified the sensor is ok, the problem lies further up the wiring or in the control. Bad solder and overheating are common problems with modern appliances.

I have a whirlpool gold dryer that has its button panel levitated over the body on 1/2 inch stilts. It was a way easier fix than replacing an overheating control with a new one that would end up being cooked the same way.

Plus a control panel was $234, spacers were $2

Gas range oven door with not open

Your self cleaning cycle is running. When self cleaning is running the door is automatically locked and will not unlock until the self cleaning cycle completes or self cleaning is turned off. You should be able to just turn off the self cleaning cycle and the door will unlock. Do not try to pry open the oven door. You will just damage the door and/or the catch.

Did you give it time to cool down? If so, probably a control issue.

Tappan electric range door locked

Check the door lock switch/solenoids. You'll have to unplug the range/stove. Remove the solenoid and check to see if it has continuity or if the solenoids are stuck.
You also might have luck resetting the clean cycle. Even though the lock is engaged, try to open the oven door a little. Start the clean cycle, then cancel it.

Tappan Electric Oven

I have a Tappan double oven range. An older model #316065301

How do I operate the cleaning cycle? I set the start and stop times, Locked the door and switched to clean. The clean light comes on but it doesn't heat up much at all. Never locks. I have misplaced my instructions manual.

Any help would be appreciated.
