This is something I actually did with my Electrolux canister "SWEEPER HOSE" and yes, I know it sounds weird, but it worked. First of all, check for obstructions in the hose. If the hose is clear, then detach the HOSE from the sweeper and run water through it and see if there are any leaks. (If a hose has an "air" leak it will not be able to "suck" as well). Drain out the water and let it completely dry (inside and out) before reattaching it to the sweeper. Tape over the leak with duck tape or Gaffer's tape. My Electrolux sweeper hose had to be completely wrapped with tape (from one end to the other), but wow it really worked. The sucking capacity was increased tremendously. I hope this helps.

HI, it's Jim from Crucial Vacuum!

Your Hand Hoover may be losing suction for a number of reasons. Here are a few things to check to help out with your hand held vacuums overall performance and to ensure a steady pickup of debris.

After every use, make sure to empty your unit's dust cup. Allowing for fine dust and debris to rest in your unit's dust cup for a long period may cause your unit to become clogged, which leads to poor or even no suction.

It is recommended to wash and clean your unit's filter weekly. To do so, empty your filter screen outdoors to take off any excess debris and then clean under running water until the water comes out clean. Allow the filter screen to fully dry before inserting it back into the unit. This may take up to several hours. Be sure to allow it to FULLY dry.

General maintenance will help improve your hand held vacuums suction and overall performance. The same applies for your general household vacuum as well.

Hoover not sucking

Remove all filters and try the suction on your hand, NOT THE FLOOR!
Filters are vital to keeping the motor working.
Most vacuum sucking probs are a result of a clogged filter or filters. Sometimes, hoses also. Or a full bag.
Remove all filters, clean them thoroughly, check hose for obstruction.
Use another vacuum to remove dust/dirt (or an air compressor) from the dirty filters.
That's first step.

Sounds like a blockage. Push a broom handle through it that will unblock it.

Hoover dm6200 blowing air

check your suction hose again, follow it to where it goes into the body of the machine. I assume this will be near where the bagless cannister is. Remove the bagless cannister and look up inside to where the attachment hose should come into the cannister. I believe you are still blocked up there. using a butter knife or something along those lines should free up the blockage.
Also, if that is all clear, try re-adjusting the dirt cannister as it may not be on properly to create your suction flow through the hose.
Good luck and let me know if I can help further.

Hoover doesn't suck well

Did you check the inlet from the bottom? Take the bottom plate off, make sure that the tube(inlet)is free of any clogs. Also if the belt is stretched, then it won't drive the brush roll like it should, replace it part #38528033.

It is not sucking up all the water

I've had this happen to my SteamVac V2 and usually find that it's because I don't have the dirty water tank locked down well or I haven't pushed the hand attachment flap in tight or its gotten clogged up down in the suction area. I have a black lab and that area accumulates dog hair quickly. I use a Zip-it available at Lowe's or on the web to clean that out.
